Apparently the device is in testing and expected launch date in June... same goes for the Z2.
 
All anyone wants is an ETA. 6 months? 1 month? 1 week? When phones get released we get excited, and the HTC One M8 is one to get excited about in my opinion. @HtcSouthAfrica on twitter has been apologizing and making silly non-helpful statements about how "the phone will be released soon". Never thought a company would try so hard to not make money.
 
Holding out for a release date... But might just bite the bullet an get an S5 :sick:

Thank you :). That is a lot more helpful than the "procurement division" excuse... I was considering the Z2 and with your post having that also coming out at the same time has me going for the M8. :)
 
I tried auto page. I had to explain the difference between the one and the one m8 to the sales lady. She said there was stock at head office and I should have it by Friday... I got a feeling it's not going to be the m8. If not I'll send it back and wait longer
 
Complete dejavu of the original HTC One launch... I so want HTC to succeed, but they seem to be trying to fail
 
Well the earliest it's going to arrive is June, assuming Vodacom doesn't like what they find while testing the device :p

Ey, if you did the master-card verification thing, then paid and failed, try again.
I think there's a issue with how they do the integration, I had to do my verification 2 times or something like that.
But my first payment attempt did fail, second one succeeded, and only got charged once :-)

Oh and delivery is super quick. Probably even better with less public holidays :-P

Used my Discovery Credit card, had no issues. Got the verification, entered that in, and all went through fine.

Delivery was great, but got held up a day at customs, because they needed my ID number for some reason???
But DHL is really one of the best.

For everyone that has the phone what's your impressions thus far? Any noticeable drawbacks you've noticed (camera? height of the phone? unnecessary htc logo? etc.) or are those things just nitpicking on an awesome phone? :p

Yeah I had the same problem, my package was not moving until I informed dhl it was stuck. Nearly spent 2 days in custom's just for my ID, I believe SARS needs the ID.

Ive never enjoyed taking pictures so much :-P The battery is awesome... before I went to bed, it was on 1%, made it though the night to still let my alarm go off and make a phone call. It charges very fast on my work laptop... but charging is not something you need to do often. The only dumb thing about this phone is the voice dialing. I also couldn't get that to work.

I am extremely happy with the phone after more than a week of usage.
The speakers are excellent quality, and the camera is way better than the reviews would have you believe. I get excellent photos, that are a million times better than my S3 ever was.
One thing I was concerned about before buying, was the height of the phone, and now that I have it, I am pleased to say it is not a concern at all. The bezzle with the HTC logo, I thought was too big, not an issue at all, very comfortable to use.

My biggest gripe is that I use Action launcher, and so I cant get access to blinkfeed with that. Else, I am seriously stoked with the phone.
