He picked up an injury in the Scotland game and has been given until Friday to prove his fitness.

Brüssow heading for Japan

Cape Town - Cheetahs flank Heinrich Brüssow is leaving South Africa to further his career in Japan, according to a report on the Volksblad website.

The 26-year-old is set to leave Bloemfontein after the completion of this year's Super Rugby competition. His contract at the Cheetahs runs until after this year's Currie Cup, but it's unlikely that Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské will scupper his plans to move earlier.

Brüssow's contract in Japan will also not allow him to play for the Springboks, which means his dream of adding to his 20 Test caps is on hold for the foreseeable future.

He is, however, likely to keep playing Super Rugby for the Cheetahs as the Japanese season does not run concurrently with the southern hemisphere tournament.

Brüssow, whose last international match came at the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand two years ago, has fallen out of favour with current Bok coach Heyneke Meyer, who prefers bigger, stronger forwards.

Meyer's disinterest in Brüssow is likely the main reason he decided to move abroad.

Eish. :(

It was always going to happen with HM making it clear that he will use every excuse in the book not to pick Brussow for the Boks again.

Sad day for the Cheetahs - even sadder for the rest of SA.

Bring back PDivvy, Bring back anyone with a grain of sense!

:( :crying:

So it's just a penalty to hold back a player who for all money was gonna score a try but a yellow card for rucking? or am I missing something?

That he would have scored a try is a bit of a stretch but yeah, neither infringement deserved more than a penalty.

Bit scrappy, but a good win nonetheless.

Looking forward to the Lions/Aussie game!

Yeah, dead rubber. Scary that even on an off day NZ can win so comfortably. I would imagine the French were quite motivated to avoid the white wash!!

Lions definitely the game of the day!!!!! Lions to squeak in.

The French really improved on last week, and they were still properly beaten. ABs are building well for 2015 already.

I don't even think they have to build towards world cups, they just so consistent, year in year out. Only time they ever looked fallible was in 2009 with Carter and Richie out. Just amazing really, at all age groups, in all codes....

True, they're incredibly consistent. And look at the way Cruden and Barrett are being made part of the squad. They didn't have Carter last week and they were practically flawless.

Then look at how we're treating flyhalf. Lambie has barely played for how long now?

Geeze, what a game! Glad the Lions won, but I think the Aussies actually deserved it. Feel bad for Beale. :(

How was Falaou's try though, and Norths for that matter. Best test match I've watched in a while.
