Well according to this we have a number of injured: http://www.sport24.co.za/Rugby/Springboks/Ebersohn-placed-on-standby-20130603

So for my money I think the squad will look like this:

1. Tendai Mtawarira
2. Adriaan Strauss (c)
3. Jannie du Plessis
4. Eben Etzebeth
5. Juandre Kruger
6. Franscois Louw (vc)
7. Willhem Alberts
8. Pierre Spies
9. Ruan Pienaar
10. Patrick Lambie
11. Bryan Habana
12. Jan Serfontein
13. Robert Ebherson
14. Gio Aplon
15. Willie le Roux

16. Coenie Oosthuizen
17. Chiliboy Ralepelle
18. Lourens Adriaanse
19. Pieter-Steph du Toit
20. Marcell Coetzee
21. Morne Steyn
22. Jano Vermaak
23. Zane Kirchner

This squad mainly based on what I think Heyneke would do and what he has said in the media. Also taking into account that we are playing with that extra player so if not I suspect Lourens Adriaanse will miss out.

Although Morne has had a great season I really think he should of started with Lambie, Morne will be heading to France soon and Lambie really needs to get more experience at test level. Otherwise I really like the team, especially Meyers move of putting Willie at fullback with not a sign of Kirchner in the team. That says a lot and I hope Willie plays well and proves to Heyneke what he has been missing.

I really like the look of this team. There's some good young players coming in and for the first time in a long while the Springbok team looks like a team that can score tries! At least on paper anyways.

I'm definitely not unhappy with the team.

I am surprised by Le Roux's inclusion. Was honestly of the opinion that Meyer is just stringing him along and that he will play Krusty. The same with Hougaard/Vermaak.

We have a very strong pack of forwards and if they can give the backs some quality front-foot ball..... The Azurri are going to be moered!

15 Willie le Roux, 14 Bryan Habana, 13 JJ Engelbrecht, 12 Jean de Villiers (captain), 11 Bjorn Basson, 10 Morné Steyn, 9 Jano Vermaak, 8 Pierre Spies, 7 Willem Alberts, 6 Francois Louw, 5 Juandré Kruger, 4 Eben Etzebeth, 3 Jannie du Plessis, 2 Adriaan Strauss, 1 Beast Mtawarira

Substitutes: 16 Chiliboy Ralepelle, 17 Trevor Nyakane, 18 Coenie Oosthuizen, 19 Flip van der Merwe, 20 Arno Botha, 21 Ruan Pienaar, 22 Pat Lambie, 23 Jan Serfontein

Now this must have some critics shut up a bit :)

Now if only Jean could learn to run straight, pull his opposing number and then off load, we can beat the Italians by 50-100 points.

I thought de Villiers and Engelbrecht are injured?

Anyway, good looking team. Le Roux hasn't played fullback all season though, so I hope he adjusts well, and gets a permanent spot ahead of Niknaks.

Good team, sad Lappies isn't on the bench but having 4 Cheetahs there is more than a lot would've expected come the start of the season!

Good looking team, but why Basson. He never has impressed on Test level..

Well at the moment there are not that many wingers to pick from :o

Also the fact that basson has some experience and is great in the air will count in his favour. Also the fact that he does not open up massive defensive gaps in our line because he goes for an intercept every two to three phases must favour his cause :p

I'd possibly have taken Mvovo ahead of him, but Basson is very good under the high ball and chasing kicks. So it'll depend on game plan, I suppose.

One does not need any type of game plan when it comes to the eye-tyes ........ I'm sooooooo keen for Bokke rugby and all we have are these noobs :(

While I agree the Italians, Scots and Samoans are a bit of a soft touch I wouldn't make the mistake of under estimating them, after all Italy did beat Ireland and France in this years 6 nations.

I know they have their flashes and a few times have put us under the cosh but I'm being moody because I am so amped for 'proper' test rugby. I mean I'll still watch, I'll always watch the Boks no matter what, but it will be like eating one peanut with a sip of water when you're starving for 5 steakrolls and a 6-pack of Amstel, you know :)

Ja, well, you going to have to wait for the Rugby Championships then!! I'm quite glad that we got a low key build up while the Ozzies will be getting smashed by the Lions and NZ by the French.

Australia, in particular, don't have the depth to deal with injuries to key players. I'm expecting and hoping their ranks get a little decimated by the Lions. Very challenging, a Lions tour followed by a Rugby Championship. To our credit we did it in 2009, winning both!!! That's quite an achievement. Let's see how the Ozzies go this year!!
