Official PS3 Discussion/News Thread - No bashing!!

DOnt really understand this?

I don't know if I am going to explain this correctly but here goes. Do you remember that old arcade games where you flew a spacecraft forward and you could shoot or dodge certain obstacles while still trying to complete the course within the set time. Im looking for something like that but just in 3D and the better graphics the ps3 offers. I can't remember any names as these games where there when I was a child.

Edit: Just saw on wikipedia that these game types are called tube-shooters and rail-shooters respectively, but google isn't very friendly with me in finding a ps3 game of these types. Maybe these type of games are just to outdated.

Go onto PSN, check the store for demo/trials before you buy.

Can anyone tell me if the cell c speedstick/router + ps3 works well for online gaming??? My situation is crap - I live in Durban and I inquired about ADSL line from Telkom. They said they are unfortunately unable to provide me with ANY telecoms due to the infrastructure of my street but do plan upgrades in the near future?!?!?! Thus had to resort to other means - Cell c sounded good???

Yes, it works just fine. If your area has good coverage, you should have no problems with Cell-C+PS3. I use Cell-C+PS3 as a back-up if I am using my ADSL for work etc.

Something like Xevious 3D/G?

Just got my PS3, was difficult to decide which console to choose, but the blueray did it for me. I got the fifa 11, killzone 2 and some other rally type of game with mine. I would really want a scolling space shooter dodging game, if someone can recommend one that would be much appreciated. I am also considering getting god of war, the games I got with mine isn't really my type.

Check the PSN for a game called "Super Stardust HD" it should be on special now, about R75, its sounds like just the type of game you looking for.

Search for it on google and check the pics, it is one of my favourite PSN titles.

Im already out of my international cap so I will only be able to download it next month. How does this PSN thing work, do you just enter your credit card details and then download the game? And is the games cheaper to download than to buy?

Hmm, I'll start reading this thread from the beginning now, just to check out all the things I might have missed.

Some PSN games like super stardust HD is a downloadable game only, and yes, you just need to use your CC details to purchase, just check but i've heard that you can buy PSN vouchers at some retailers like BT games, if you dont want to use your CC online.

Also check, the PSN in SA is local, so you dont need international cap to download, but i speak under correction on this one.

I have no trouble using my CC so that isn't a issue.

I tried to access PSN on my local cap and it didn't load, but I had some internet problems anyway, so this might affect it too.

The trick is that you have to start the download from international and then switch over to local for it to work. The best is to get an additional Afrihost (or other) prepaid or Top-Up account or get a Axxess voucher (More expensive) from Engen.
