Official Samsung Galaxy Note (N7000) Thread

I installed the AbyssNote kernel 4.0 from 3.7 earlier today and my phone is silky smooth now! Antutu scores 200 points lower but it just feels so much faster and a lot more responsive. I'm impressed.

Try ICS. It gets even better. I am done with GB now. Finally.
 
Bleh, tried ICS (Team Rocket 1.5) and it just isn't stable enough for me with games and some apps crashing randomly. It's also not as smooth as my current GB so I went back. Will wait for a non beta release, CM9 in particular.

Edit: The eye candy was nice though.

Did you flash 1.4 first with a full wipe after flashing, and only then 1.5 (without a wipe)?
 
I'm not having many problems at all on v1.5. Very happy with it, with only a few FCs here and there. Definitely good enough for daily use to tide me over until a more stable release emerges.

in other news, please will one of you owes sell your Note to a friend of mine. He wants one, and I want him to have one. :D

I am finding 1.5 the same. Have had only 1 FC since it was released so happy.

I am happy to sell your mate mine. Low low R8,499 :)
 
Ended up buying the Samsung dock and I am very happy. Build quality is great, and the integration is very slick. What I really like is that you can use the dock without HAVING TO plug into microusb, thereby reducing wear-and-tear.

I got my car and desk docks from the Sammy shop at Vodaworld. R350 each.
 
Anyone know of any good contract deals at the moment? My contract for my galaxy s expires soon, currently on vodacom and its costing me +- R500 a month...
 
Be very patient with expansys, ordered a case and screen saver for my note, when placing order, paying, etc, delivery was stated as 11 days.

Took 2 months and the only feedback you get from them is if you query.

To give credit where credit is due, they did thank me for my patience and am happy with the products.
 
Umm, so the market / google play seems to have disappeared from my phone...:confused:

Any one else had this problem and or know how to fix it?

Sorry, I've not had this problem, my market just got renamed to Play shop and is still working, I'm on stock 2.3.6. Maybe ICS update ("coming soon" apparently) will sort it out for you if you not rooted.
