Official Samsung Galaxy Note (N7000) Thread

Okay so in short the amazing new features:
S3 launcher (I've officially ditched Nova) - really smooth, resizeable widgets (though not with the flexibility of Nova), slick animations, and finally a menu that really impresses with the option to alphabetise apps, the proper ICS widget menu, and downloaded apps menu.
Updated gallery with the new Note 2 gallery features - timeline and the cool tubular view.
A pointer for the S-Pen (really small though, but still useful)
S-Cloud (for backing up SMS's, contacts, and settings)
And everything really flies (I don't often see that after updates, but in this case the Note really is smoother and nicer to use).
Overall a really impressive update, and I can officially say I really like Touchwiz now.
I have no idea when it will reach SA officially though (most likely we'll only see these features with the Jellybean update next year).
If you've been thinking of flashing a German ROM now is certainly the time as this update is really worth having (just keep it official and don't root it if you don't want to void your warranty).

Couldn't help myself....

And how do you find it so far? Is it very stable, more than enough for use as a daily driver?

All seems good, no crashes / hanging. Blue tooth works perfectly (was a bug in previous JB Roms that I tried) Its nice and fast. Very clean. I'll still say RocketRom (ICS based) is the best rom I have used to date.... I'll use this till something frustrates me... then probably load RR V11.

I have tried Paranoids CM10 based roms, I just dont like the "phablet" style he uses. I prefer the phone style tbh.

For getting Adobe Flash 11.1 to work on JB: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846225

Edit: Mofo ... I have that problem again where trying to send an sms, locks my simcard ?!?.....

Edit 2:

Fixed, a helpfull member told me to do this (for Vodacom only)
a) go to dialer and enter *#*#4636#*#*
b) choose the top option "phone information" and then scroll down to where it gives you a space to enter an SMSC number.
c) enter this code (only on vodacom): 0791722819911100 and hit update.
d) exit and reboot phone.
e) send sms to test. It should work.

Edit 3:

I'm going to give Hydracore Kernel a go ... probably try the OC ver....

Thanks you!

Only glitch I can say I have had is sound volume via Bluetooth is not consistent. Sometimes after reconnecting to my car audio, the sound is so low its barely audible.... (but only in audio player, not phone)

My battery seems to have recently started taking steroids. I used to get 3-4 hours of screen-on time, but today I got 5+ hours.

Cant find those stats in my rom, so presuming you are using an app or different rom.

Oh :o

Nope that's the stock settings (I'm on AOKP). Go to Settings > Battery and press the graph on top to see the big graph, or Screen to see the screen time.

Got it ... shot ... I'm on 13h 31m on battery @ 61% currently... but have not used the phone much at all today, just whatsapp, sms's & thats about it. Screen hardly been on... but I see my WiFi was permanently on ... not sleeping....

OK ... So feedback time for Liquid Smooth JB ROM:

I really like this rom, its been by far the better JB Roms I have tried, but alas, it has it faults...

1 - Bluetooth audio volume is not consistent
2 - Blutooth (again) media does not always play through speakers on car audio (even tho both devices clearly show it is)
3 - Regular slow ups / mini freezes
4 - Complete system slowdown over time, everything lags (requires reboot)
5 - You need a workaround to get flash going (Adobe has dropped flash support for Android 4.1.1)
6 - Just runs out of RAM imo
7 - Battery life is super kak with HydraCore Kernel (OC)

Conclusion: A very good start to a nearly fully functional JB ROM. It does not have all the standard Note applications (I never used my stylus even once, so that does not bother me). If it were not for the degrading performance and slowness after a period I would stay on this rom. I used a nifty app to help with my bluetooth volume issues (Audio Concert), this lets you preset profiles for your audio levels.

So I will revert to RocketRom V11 today.... Untill the next good JB Rom....
