I am on Top Up 315 and i just get a 150Mb Data bundle each month.
Isn't fring able to connect to skype?

Hi there.
Dead keen on the SGS and have been tracking release developments for months. Love the phone, considering getting one on next upgrade.
Being able to remotely sync emails with our exchange server is secondary - but am totally concerned that my old Nokia entry level can sync outlook calendar, contacts & tasks via bluetooth but doing so on SGS is like running the gauntlet? Outlook --> Google Calendar --> (Kies?) --> SGS isn't an option on our control freak corporate network but I absolutely have to sync perfectly and as seamlessly as possible albeit by Bluetooth or USB.
Any thoughts from those with experience? Your input would save me a ton of hassles and unnecesary expense - thanks!

Just a comment. I am sitting at JHB airport and the wifi is so damn slow i had to use my mobile. Setup the SGS mobile AP, connected, and bam instant connectivity. So painless! Sat on a conference call for 2 hours with a headset the whole time the phone was in mobile AP mode and i had no issues at all. Laptop downloading at 130kB/s (bouncing between 3G and HSDPA) whilst on the call. Loving this feature!
MTN cnr of 2nd avenue and Cape road. Applied for a new contract in the morning and had my phone in my grubby little hands by 4pm not bad coming previously from cellc with k@k customer service

This totally pissed me off too.
I haven't synced yet, but the second option is KIES. This is Samsung's PC suite of sorts that can be used for syncing (among other things it can do) with Outlook.
I've been searching for a APP to do the syncing myself, so far nothing (except for Google and KIES).

May have lost the plot a tadd but..... Read somewhere that Kies just jumbles your info during sync. Contact fields go into disarray, recurring meetings don't sync properly. Etc...
Such a pity because that's a deal breaker as far as I'm concerned. God forbid but I may need to await Win Mob/Phone 7 :-( or stick with old yet effective tech :-(

I had the android marketplace bug which took me a while to figure out
The music player db bug (which there seems to be no solution for) basically I can't search the music app at all.
How can there be no native tasks application?
Or a native RSS reader (please don't point to the google reader mobile site it's useless).
Even applications like Opera Mini have fewer options on Android than on other platforms.
The camera sucks enormously, every picture is noisy and low light conditions come out nearly black.
Battery life truly sucks, this phone can't make it even 8 hours with my usage, and I've turned nearly everything off. I'm beginning to regret purchasing this phone.

Get a Nokia 3310 - so little can go wrong!
Then take it back.
Just that i have had no problems with mine since day 1.
Had it more than a month and i still love it.
The embarrassing thing for me is that with my old and unreliable Imate Jasjam/HTC Tyttn I (running WM 6.0) it was a plug and play operation.
Nevertheless it is a nice phone.

I still love my phone, but encountered a couple of issues so far:
That's about my list of complaints though. I have no complaints about the battery life - I get 2-3 days with fair use on the phone. Use Timeriffic to activate and deactivate WiFi at certain times of the day to stretch the battery life a bit. Don't ever use GPS on it - I have a dedicated device in my car for that. Also have the screen brightness set to medium most of the time.
- This morning the phone froze during a call. Even the sound froze. Had to pull out the battery to reset it.
- I struggle to get my CDMA on after explicitly setting the phone to GSM only. Have to fiddle with GSM/CDMA, CDMA only, GSM only, Flight Mode, WiFi on/off... Until it eventually gets back my GSM/CDMA combo.
- The soft-key back button is beginning to become a bother. My hand / fingers keep accidentally touching it, quitting the app I was busy using. Would've preferred a hardy-key like the home button.
- Experiencing some lag issues every so often. Will wait to see what the official Samsung Froyo + Firmware updates do to the phone, otherwise I'm rooting and flashing custom firmware + ROM.

I don't need a Nokia, there are so many basic things Android lacks that Blackberry has, I find myself returning to my Blackberry because everything is just easier and actually works without bugs on my Blackberry, can you cancel a contract? I don't think it's possible?

Lol, yeah I actually didn't literally mean 'get a Nokia' - was just referring to the days way back when we still sent pixelated pic msgs and didn't have to worry about 100s of bugs and annoyances. I guess the more complicated phones got, the more the bugs could appear. Like any system I guess.
Back on topic, sorta- no you cant cancel a contract. I think if you had it for less than 7 days you can swop it for a new one...oronte

I guess I have to give it a chance, I did hate my blackberry the first week as well, once I got used to it I didn't know how I managed without it. The only difference is there weren't any major bugs, the Froyo update had better solve these problems.
