Official Thread: Samsung Galaxy S (I9000)

I'm itching to get the official Froyo on my SGS (the GPS issue is a bummer). I've else where that the USA and Europeans are able to update, I'm getting "Cannot update JM1 firmware" from Kies. I'll try again on Monday.

Been running Foryo 2.2 jpk beta for a while. Works perfectly, better than stock almost... KIES as issues, you may need to force it to update, see xda developers forum...
 
Android market problem

Hi all, I have my Galaxy for three days now, all good except for the fact that it always give me a 'download unsuccesful' message whenever I try to download anything from the androidmarket. Internet works fine. Anyone else with this problem? Solutions please? This is driving me nuts.
 
I had this problem too, one of the first things you downloaded got 'stuck' and now nothing else will download. Go to settings - appllications - amanage applications. On the menu choose filter all apps and choose android market, then clear data.
 
It works on mine with no problems, it is a bit slow but it's considerably better than the previous software Samsung used. It would be nice if Google developed something though.
 
I also installed kies in my win 64 bit without any trouble. The phone sometimes dont get picked up. I get a error that the device didnt install correctly. But then i just disconnect and connect again and it works.

I got the Kies update to 1.5.3.10093 but it didnt seem to be able to connect. Trying to reinstall it now after getting it off the samsung site now.

Did you guys do anything else besides get the Kies update?

Nope, just installed it and it worked. Did get a drivers error during install, but that doesn't seem to have influenced anything. I tried to update Kies after I installed it, but it didn't seem to do anything, but it isn't a problem now.

If you are running a non-standard Homescreen, first switch back to TWLauncher using HomeSwitcher.
I can't connect to Kies when I'm using LauncherPro, but connect fine once I switch back to TWLauncher.
 
My clock is incorrect and I haven't figured out how to change it yet. I go to clock -> world clock and it is on cape town, but my time is out with 30mins. WFF? :confused:

Ok now the install doesnt work, downloaded it again and it gets stuck at 48% of the install

You've probably enabled the Network-Provided Clock.

Sorry dude, but all I can say is, try again and again, restarting the pc and all that. I tried to install it last week and it didn't want to, but came in yesterday, didn't change anything, except for the shutdown and startup and it worked without any issues, except for the driver thing that isn't really an issue.

Yeah, it was on by default. All I want to know is, how can the network provided clock be behind by 30mins... :O
