Official Vox DSL feedback thread

Hi

My pleasure.

Voxy

Have now sent to you - in 2 PM's - full extract of mail with my feedback to the engineer, so you're aware of largely positive feedback, with possibility of one or two changes to the account.

Thanks again.

HI Voxy / Vox

I'm a new Vox customer and have been on it since end of Jan 2016. I've been having no (or VERY limited issues) and have been singing your praises but since last Thursday I've been having issues. My internet has since become pretty much unusable.

Speed Test:
Download Speed: 185 kbps (23.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 240 kbps (30 KB/sec transfer rate)

I'm on Fatpipe 75GB and 4Mbps Telkom line.

Please can you have a look, let me know if there are any other details you require.

PS: I don't buy the "congested exchange" story because I had no issues before Thursday last week and I have friends on the same exchange without any issues.

a device on your network is uploading something somewhere, using all your upstream bandwidth.

All day, every day for the last 6 days?? I doubt it. I checked all the networking traffic on the different computers and found no traffic at all. The only time the connection sems fine is in the early hours of the morning.

Just did another test:
Download Speed: 237 kbps (29.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 94 kbps (11.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Any issues with the Bolton?

I found Bolt-on to be fine for normal surfing last night, but progress bar on YouTube was slow to open, and a number of times buffering took place even on 480p. Everything seemed speedy this morning between 5h30 & 6h00, so put it down to Vox's network (last night).

Good morning

Please pm me your details so I can have a look.

Would like to take the time to write feedback on the Vox service.

I have been a customer at Vox for around 7 months now. I am on the Fatpipe service, 300 GB capped.
I am using a 20 Mbps telkom DSL line syncing at around 15 Mbps.

So far I've had no problems with my data service from Vox. Speeds and latency has been fine up until the Telkom ASSIA implementation which had nothing to do with Vox.

I do have to note however that when the SEACOM disruptions started a few weeks back (before it was public knowledge) I was not impressed with the support center. The representative I spoke to did not come across as technically sound and gave me very vague reasons for my disruptions.

Other than this I am very satisfied, and I guess as with most services in SA I hope I do not have to deal with a support team any time soon.

Good morning

I am very sorry to hear that. Please pm me with the specifics so I can have a discussion with the responsible party

Voxy

Can you please explain why the "Data Bundle Limit Exceeded" event occurs on accounts with 80GB+ available data. Your call centre operators tell me that this happens but no-one knows why, and that it happens all the time.

I find it quite disturbing that Vox can run a network with these frequent errors but not understand what is going on.

And frankly, telling me to turn off the router for 30 minutes and then the problem will be fixed is not really a solution. There was some talk of recreating the port which would clear "everything" (whatever that might be) but seeing that Vox do not manage the line I'm not sure I understand how they will do that.

Thanks

I cancelled my 50GB fat-pipe + bolt-on 2 years ago for the following reasons:

1. Random/pre-mature capping.
2. DNS issues.
3. Shaping on p2p.

I see nothing has changed.

I have zero of the issues you mentioned.

When I had the free Samsung 1TB I got capped on the first of the month at midnight but it was fixed by the time I woke up, this has never happened on my normal Fat Pipe.
