What is Vox doing about there prices, anything in the pipeline before I switch. I can't pay more and get throttled to death even late at night.

Are you on capped or uncapped? I must say, I have experienced good speeds (on capped) when there are no problems on the network. When there are issues, you can forget about doing anything.

I am extremely interested in CW/AH's new products. I am waiting for their Fibre products to be made public before I make a move. Vox has treated me fair, but there is a lot of room for improvement. Especially with their Fibre via Telkom - The Data packages are a joke (forced to take it, horribly expensive, no midnight uncapped).

I'm hoping Crystal Web gets their shiz together. I would much prefer supporting the underdog.

I am on a uncapped account I know they are religiously throttling me because every month I get close to the soft cap my speed is halved. I am getting me a 200gig Afrihost capped account. Free data from midnight to 6pm is just to good to let go. Cheap as well. I am trying them for a month if everything goes good with them I will take my line also over since the package cost less than what i am currently paying to be throttled. Its ridiculous to be throttled so and i only stream and soooooooometimes do a few torrents.

I must say that I get very good support from Vox which is the one thing putting the brakes on me not switching long ago.

That is how the Vox uncapped packages work. Go read the terms and then get a capped product

Yet the tech support guys tells me they dont throttle streaming. At first it wasnt like this but now flipping hell they almost made me get DSTV again.

Unfortunately, as with most companies, the helpdesk people don't always know what they are talking about.

Example:
4Mbps uncapped:
At 80GB consumed (30% of soft cap) – drop speed to 2Mbps
At 160GB consumed (60% of soft cap) – drop speed to 1Mbps
At 260GB consumed (100% of soft cap) – remain at 1Mbps until end of month

Any plans from Vox yet to match the 12-6pm unmetered on capped accounts offered by other providers?

Yes, they have the rollover which, in reality, is probably much more sustainable.
The Free 12-6PM data is more like Unshaped & Uncapped data for R29 a month. That still gives you 20GB for use in the evenings and as most of us have a backup account too it is all the data we need. I doubt the AH experiment will be renewed at the end of November.

I won't need that, had over 800 gig accumulated at the beginning of this month. No ways will I ever use that.

If it was, or still is, then strange I've not received an outage notification (via e-mail & SMS) yet. I signed up when it was made available in the last week or so, and selected ADSL Services notifications for PE, CPT & Eastern Cape, day or night (ie after hours).

Have not logged onto Vox yet, as using Afrihost during the day.

Vox has been giving me problems like line disconnects. The speed is fine, but it's just annoying to be downloading something and then realizing the download has stopped after a few minutes. I've switched back to the more reliable Telkom Internet ADSL account. :)

All better now. Don't know if the DNS servers were acting up, but I also had the same disconnect issues on TI. Back to using Vox ADSL again and flying! :D
