Seems things are down in London, huge packet loss.

It's not the fact that thing break or go down that frustrates me. It's there total silence on the matter. They need to have a troop of people there 24/7 and they should keep us up to date with that is going on. Yet if their website and customer portal is anything to go by this ISP is just winging it.

ive just called in and they reset my port, said they had to do it to all CapeTown clients, seem to be working now, but cross fingers it lasts.......

can definitely confirm this worked for me, speeds back to normal, browsing fast again, suggest people in CT area do the same.....:)
 
Vox and Afrihost have both started this year faking my internet connection.

Which isp has true unshared capped accounts, not some faking shaped, throttled or some bull about using to much for a certain period.

Anybody can offer me that please, let say 100-250 gigs and I'll be happy

TL;DR: Did anyone sign up for the Fatpipe Holiday promotion? I signed up for a regular account for testing in Dec and was told it was part of a 5 month (locked-in) promotion I didn't want.

So I signed up for a fatpipe 100GB Account in December, to test my line and cancel in Jan.

Sent the email a few days ago to cancel.

Got called today and was told that I can't cancel because I signed up for the 'Holiday Promotion', and I have to take the 3 free months, and have 2 billed months to qualify for the 3 month free promotion.

Sounds nice and all, but I didn't saw this promotion on the site when I signed up. Never noticed my invoices were actually 0 (usually check my card being billed and forgot about it).

And to cancel now, I will be penalised two months (which is about the same as I would've ben billed anyway. (technically it's 1.6 months pro-rata).

This is easy enough to solve. Just stay in and pay later blah blah. My grate with this is about placing promotions in the T&Cs, and not making it clear (on the site or invoice) that I signed up for it. It's basically a 5 month commitment, which I am not keen on (pretty tired of dealing with ISPs...)

***If I am wrong and I somehow missed the banners and name changes, adverts etc.. that came with this, please let me know. I'm curious if anyone else saw this promotion happening?

What the hell is "faking" an internet connection?

I'm running fatpipe (which got upgraded multiple times, now on 1TB for R485) on 100mbit fibre and I get fullspeed whenever I need it, on whichever protocol I want. The only time I have noticed any shaping is when **** hits the fan with regards to international links failing. Or when a local CPT -> JHB link falls over. These are issues that Vox cant prevent or have no control over.

ZA ISP's don't like communicating their problems to customers. This is one area where everybody can improve on.

Stats for December 2016:
Standard Usage (1,091.74 GB)
Zero-rated Usage (202.96 GB)

Almost hit 1.3TB - Would be able to manage much more than that if I didn't run out of things to download.
 
quality of my Vox connection seems to be a bit flaky in the evenings. my ping is unstable and higher than usual, no doubt due to excessive usage by people downloading the internet ^^

lol fuuuuuuuu. I saw a bunch of peeps complaining on AH thread about issues in Cape Town. They are all experiencing unstable pings from a certain time onwards in the evening. Perhaps a telkom issue rather than AH/vox? Just some food for thought.
