I get home now and i surf for like 40min then BOOM line drops and router needs to get connected all over again :(

Been having exactly the same *** at my place in PTA today too. Up and down, especially early this evening. Tearing hair out trying to get work done.

Check if you can adjust the modulation of your ADSL router to G.DMT instead of ADSL2+....i've found that it is a much more stable mode than ADSL2+.

Also if there are ANY filters, phones, faxes ect - remove them from your line.

Things that could also play a huge factor are old wallboxes inside the home - replace them.

All rj11 cables and connectors should be fresh where possible.

A downstream SNR of between 12-16 is "ok-ish" but if you have somekind of problem , a dip of 5-6 is going to cause a resync.

mmmm one word intermittent, People we need to grasp its not just port resets that work or modem restarts , your line could actually be faulty without you knowing , its easy to do a port reset , ask the consultants to do a LTS test , which is a line test , maybe you would find some metallic noise on the line or a dis at some pillar point, I guarantee you would find a fault, remember , corrosion , birds, even moss influence that line.

change Modulation from Multi-mode to g.dmt there maybe some other words or letters like ADSL(G.DMT) its all the same this should help

well things are pretty much the same here...frustrating as hell.

I'm throwing in the towel for the day....Telkom have a string of fault reports...no resolve as yet.

I even went and bought a new router...turns out the old one was just fine...ze problem is ISP or SAIX routing side...again
