Onavo: A must-have app

Pass. I tried it and really hate the speed reduction. No point in having a high spec phone just to go and nerf it. Data savings weren't that notificable for me either.

Does latency really matter that much? I thought latency was only really important when you are a online gamer?

There are online FPS type games on Android and iOS where latency does matter. But it would be silly to expect onlibe games to have the same latency when playing through Onavo VPN anyways. I like Onavo

I rarely use mobile data, mostly on wifi. So I don't venefit from Onavo too often. But I do prefer to browse with Dolphin, which is about the only browser I could find on Android that cached images properly. And that saves on mobile data and speed

Everytime I restart my phone I get that notification.

Havent seen much of a difference in data costs though but thats probably because I use wifi most of the time

Nothing significant for me. So I just keep it on and stay way under my data bundle.

I uninstalled out of privacy concerns, but then I have my own zip-proxy running in ol' US of A.

I discovered a very bizarre side effect on the latest update of Onavo, I discovered that I could no longer successfully phone Blackberry devices, after the update to Onavo, my calls to BB's kept failing or going straight to voicemail. Initially I thought this was just Vodacom, but last night I did some "debugging" and discovered that I could phone any type of phone except for a BlackBerry, I then deleted the Onavo app and was able to successfully call a BlackBerry device after the deletion. Has anybody else noticed this?

I have an iPhone 4s with the latest version of iOS(5.1.1), to get it to work I uninstalled the Onavo app and deleted the profile it created.

Cannot get it to work on vodacom. Then it change my apn back to iphone.

care to comment on the speed issues. Why does it change your APN. Pings of 600-900.
will have a try agian later on.
