Onavo: A must-have app

I've been using it for 6 months on an iPhone and have saved 550 megs, so, so far so good! I don't notice the app running the battery flat or anything.

It's worth noting that having the Onavo profile installed interferes with the DSTV Drifta.
It produces a bug that is very difficult to diagnose, and I only found the solution (removing the Onavo profile) whilst sitting in the Multichoice office talking to one of their consultants.

Don't really care about my data usage because i know what i'm doing on my phone. For those VERY paranoid people, get Tor and Tor Browser! Should keep your mind at easy little more! Nothing in the world is secure, just remember that!!

Does latency really matter that much? I thought latency was only really important when you are a online gamer?

Internet gets to slow.... Just use opera. Much better and faster and will save you more

Won't that only help with web browsing though? Or does it install something so that other usage is also compressed?

Played with it when I had my iPhone. Did not really see much difference in latency, or that much in savings, but then the phone was hooked up to Wi-Fi a lot where Onavo does not work. Since my Acer Iconia tab got it ICS update last weekend, I can now run Onavo Extend on it. Will try it for a while and see what happens.

I didn't know Onavo could do this. I replaced the data monitoring app on my S3 with 'My Data Manager' because it looked better and kept track of wifi usage. Might have to change back now...
