OnePlus 15

Did you place an order? Or you trying to make enquiries before placing an order?

My brother in-law ordered on Monday and got confirmation of order email as well as warehouse picking order email. A lot of which is probably automated...

In terms of actual feedback pre-order, seems like you may be in for a long wait.
No, I haven't placed an order yet. I just a few queries before I commit and needed reassurance before placing the order. Still no email feedback BTW.

However I see there is another company locally that also sources the phones from China. He is a little more expensive (+- R1000 more, but his price includes all duties and taxes) but he at least takes my calls. Company is Baldins https://baldins.co.za/tf/product/oneplus-15-cn-variant/

Same time frame, between 2-3 weeks. Not sure if anyone has bought from them but the guy I'm chatting too (Zaakir) has a Youtube channel where he reviews phones.

Decent prices, definitely an option but does he do the flashing to Oxygen OS? I'm assuming so?

What is complicating matters is he can get me an Oppo X9 Pro for R3000 more. I'm not a photographer or a videographer but by all accounts most find the X9 Pro cameras to be top-tier.

Yes, he said i have the option of Oxygen vs Colour OS but recommended I go with Oxygen OS

📱 ONEPLUS 15 – FULL REVIEW

OnePlus 15 (CN Variant) – Daily Use Review (South Africa)

After using the OnePlus 15(chinese flashed to global) for a while, the best way to describe it is simple:

It’s easy to recommend.

⚡ Performance

  • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
  • Fast, responsive UI
  • No lag in daily use

It’s one of those phones where you don’t think about performance — it just works.

🔋 Battery Life

This is one of the standout features.
  • 7300mAh battery
  • Easily 2 days with moderate use
  • Fast charging (very quick top-ups)
Compared to most flagships, battery life here is on another level.

📺 Display

  • 6.78” AMOLED
  • 165Hz refresh rate (in gaming)
  • Smooth and bright
Everything feels fluid — especially scrolling and gaming.

📸 Camera

  • Triple 50MP setup
  • Good overall performance
  • Consistent results

It’s a solid camera system, but not the main reason to buy this phone.

🇿🇦 CN Variant Experience

From real use:
  • Google Play works
  • English supported
  • Works on SA networks
  • no esim
  • had some issues with streaming networks and getting full quality
No issues using it as a daily device.

👍 Final Thoughts

If you want a phone that balances:

  • Performance
  • Battery life
  • Smooth daily use

The OnePlus 15 is one of the best all-round options right now, honestly loved it

Starting price on the global version is incorrect?

Or maybe not...

There's no difference between the CN version and the global version other than the version of software the phones ship with and e-sim support. Afaik...
