Received my phone this morning, spent about three hours setting it up now, and I am very very impressed with the device! Met and exceeded my expectations. Blazingly fast in just about every aspect, and close to stock android is such a pleasure

With the whatsapp notification issue, mine is working fine, there are no popups while using other apps or anywhere in the interface. I am guessing that the settings need to be changed in whatsapp itself, my settings were downloaded when I setup my whatsapp.

If you don't mind me asking, how much were import duties?

Hi Guys, I found a setting that potentially improves standby time. I noticed that google play services used the most battery on my device so I investigated and found a peculiar setting under settings>apps>the little gear on the top>special access>unrestricted data access and noticed that google play services was allowed. I unchecked this box and standby performance seems to have improved.

Let me know if this helps on your device too
 
Hey Guys I also want to get myself a OP3T but i am unsure about the best way to go about it without paying much more for the phone.
I was planning on buying it direct from Oneplus and shipping it with Aramex but the import duty seems a bit high any other suggestions?

You will yes but the value declared by the seller is around R1500. Import duties are around R200-R250.

they declared it as a gift. charger or something :whistle:

was about 7 grand all in for the 128gig
 
Hi guys, does anybody know if the North American model of the OnePlus 3T will work in South Africa? Here are the connectivity specs for the North American model:

WCDMA: Bands 1/2/4/5/8
FDD-LTE: Bands 1/2/4/5/7/8/12/17/30
CDMA EVDO: BC0
