Oneplus 3T

Do the one from takealot work on our lte bands? I want to buy a 3t soon and saw they also sell them.
Someone commented previously that Takealot is selling the North American model which supports limited LTE frequencies in SA.

Getting it through Aliexpress was truly a painless experience!! 5 working days from time of order to having it delivered to my front door. R6.9k all in... Maybe a little more now with the current exchange rate...

EDIT: mmmmm, prices seem to have been updated, $530 excluding delivery, prices are up...

Just yesterday it was $479 excl. shipping and they had the midnight black edition for $530 excl. ....

Seems their pricing is very fluid

With these guys, I don't think I will ever take another contract device....! Excellent service

No!!! I see there are still some other sellers at the $420 level with DHL shipping available (Was seriously considering getting one a couple of weeks back when I saw the $ at 12.35, but decided against it, partly due to extras on home renovations and emotional attachment to my Nexus 5. And then Zuma happened later that day...)

Guess I'm waiting for the OnePlus 5...but at what price?

Think its best to wait for the 4/5 if you don't need a phone right now

Haha, snap! If you really miss it, then simply install the Google Now Launcher - it made my 3T seem almost identical to my N5! The 3T is amazing value, with the only risk IMO being repairs if damaged.

I got mine yesterday , still busy setting it up etc and moving stuff over from my LG G5 , but looking forward to it . First impressions are that apart from a couple of tweaks and useful custom options it's fairly close to the stock android Iv used on Nexus and Motorola's before , which is great . No bloat at all really .

I will need to get a cover for it though as I find it pretty slick in hand . I was actually expecting the device to be a little bigger , but even with a 5.5" screen it is only just slightly bigger than the LG G5 and is in fact actually thinner than the LG G5 . I thought I might miss the higher res screen on the LG G5 but to be honest I have not even noticed a high difference as yet . Build quality I find to be great , in fact better than on the LG G5 if I'm honest and certainly up there with the other top Devices .

Congrats!! Yes the phone is really slick, slim and well built. I'd definitely get a cover, actually didn't use mine until I had a cover which I got from Zasttra. I'm not too happy with the covers so I imported some from Spigen, big fan of their cases which I used on other devices.

Close to stock android is really awesome, and with this hardware combination it is by far one of the smoothest and fastest android devices available. I would be keen to see how much the newer model could improve on this, my thoughts would be not by much!

How long did the covers take to arrive from Zasttra and what we're they like pricing wise if you don't mind me asking ?

I ordered this cover in grey and navy blue https://www.zasttra.com/products/on...on-fiber-tpu-rugged-armor-protective-casegrey

Placed my order on BidorBuy on March 19, Received ONE of the two covers I ordered on the 5 April. They say 10 to 15 working days to fulfill the order, but I am still awaiting the other cover to arrive

The case offers good protection, ports are cut out accurately, buttons have a good feel, but Im just not happy with the feel of it in the hand. There are quite a few sharp edges around the sides

BTW the EXACT same covers can be bought from Aliexpress for a fraction of the cost...

Anyone using a tempered protector ? Been thinking of getting one but seems it's difficult to get one that fits decently from what iv read .

Overall, I'm not too impressed with the Oneplus 3t - too clunky and awkward to hold - lots of unintentional screen taps...but it was just £439 unlocked for the 128GB vs. £699 for my 128GB iPhone. I do prefer the 3t screen, though. I don't notice the extra RAM between it and the 3GB RAM Sony which is mist-blue but looks white in this pic (taken on the new iPad).

Sometimes I prefer my Xperia X Compact to either of my main phones, generally for its size; that, plus I have 32GB + 128GB and it has the bulk of my music. I swap out sims between the three.

Camera-wise the Sony is crap, (despite the 23MP) the NT a lot better but the iPhone better yet.

Hey guys 1 week later and I must be honest this phone is freaking amazing.
Performance and customization is much better than I was expecting.
Battery is out of this world it just doesn't feel like it ever runs out.
Camera works very well, very good response time not to mention top notch pictue quality and videos look beautiful aswell.
Overall just an amazing peace of tech.
I do agree that it can feel a bit awkward in you hand but you get used to it.
Only negative I can mention is the screen protector provided by 1+ is way too small "because it has curved glass..." They say.
Already ordered the one mentioned before.

Thanks again guys

By no means scientific or realistic but interesting to watch nonetheless

I skipped to the relevant bits https://youtu.be/OX4JucpvbJM?t=6m7s not far behind the S8 overall... The 6GB RAM and optimizations showing their worth in multitasking.

Impressive!!

iPhone remains a beast... S8 playing catchup and the iPhone 8 will be out towards the end of the year!

Personally, looking forward to the Oneplus 5!!

The iPhone really is a beast, if only it didn't run on iOS! I am more than happy with the 3T for my purposes. I don't often do video encoding on my phone haha

I think the OnePlus 5 will beat the S8 in performance once it arrives, but then the iPhone 8 is more difficult to predict. Another question is the pricing of the OnePlus 5... it seems to be doing an upward trend as the brand gains ground
