Oneplus 6

So what you saying is that hydrogen is only for china and comes without playstore and all other regions get oxygen?

Pretty much... The confusion comes in because Hydrogen OS/Chinese version is afaik exclusively found on the A6000 variant.

But it doesn't follow that A6000 ships exclusively with Hydrogen OS.

Problem is that I got one with hydrogen and its exactly the same as one with oxygen, so why then ship with 2 different os if it's the same? Doesn't make any sense at all.

Are you sure it was Hydrogen OS?

I've already explained the fundamental differences between Hydrogen OS and Oxygen OS and why the 2 different skins exist.

HydrogenOS is the Chinese equivalent of OxygenOS. In China, Google apps, Google Play Services or anything relating to Google aren't allowed. Therefore, any and all OnePlus devices sold in China ship with an OS called HydrogenOS that has zero reliance on Google Apps. It is also a heavily forked version of Android, with no functionality resembling stock Android whatsoever.

Yip definitely hydrogen, took a screenshot and will check if I have it somewhere. Will ask the guy that bought mine to send me screenshot.

so,where is a good place to get the oneplus 6 from?

Hi

Are any of the OnePlus 6 owners on the forum using Cell C as a network provider, and are you able to use Cell C's WiFi-Calling service on your device ?

Thank you

Mmmmmm, are you having issues? Or do you want to know before buying a OP6?

Network worked fine but not wifi calling.

Anyone that can help with some perspective on the best buying options with respect to the 5T and 6? I'm considering the 5T from here in order to save some money over the 6 and get at least the 6m warranty from the local purchase. Is this the best offer locally, and am I saving much going the 5T route over the 6 (some 6 deal I'm potentially missing out on?)

I saw that 5T is going for R8500

You can pick up the same spec'd 6 (64GB, 6GB RAM) for R9600 here.

( Just thought I'd throw it out there :) )

Cool, thanks.

I hoped there were more 5T deals to compare to, haven't found any though thus far. I'm leaning more towards the 5T currently. Is thecellstore a reliable source for imports?

You not prepared to consider pre-owned import? A week old is basically brand new! At least there's no risk to you for a DOA...

AFAIK locally OP's warranty resides in China in any event, so warranty claim will mean it will ship back to the mainland for repairs. I don't believe there is a local service centre for OP as yet. Sadly...

No worries.

I have no idea, this is the first I've heard of them.
Maybe someone here can answer that for you :)
