OnePlus 8 series

Nope.... I want my whole screen... not a dark spot on one corner where the selfie cam is located. Next goal: hide the selfie cam under the screen, like the FP scanner...

Yeah. Hasn't the new OPPO got an underscreen selfie cam?

Mmmmm, looks like they going with the punch hole camera. Not a deal breaker but a little disappointing...

Mmmmm.... okay, possibly the feature I care the least about. So long as the phone has a high degree of water resistance as stock, which I think it has from the OP6 upwards...

IP rating is more of a marketing gimmick than an actual guarantee. If it were the latter, warranty would cover water damage. It does not and has never...

I'd find a durability rating more useful. Instead of trolling Youtube for drop tests and tear down videos, wouldn't it be helpful if cellphones were sold with durability ratings? And it would put immense pressure on spec obsessed manufacturers to deliver more robust handsets...

Nice table for comparison of new models. The lite seems to be £400/$550 from rumours.

@sand_man Are you getting one?

I'm thinking of replacing my 6T with the 8.
@genetic Would love to but I don't think so! Finances are a tad tight at the mo... just dropped 2 bar renovating my shop... :crying: on a shoestring budget the last 6 months... Corona panic has also just taken 10% out of my share portfolio... and counting... not feeling bullish...

I reckon 6T to 8 pro would be a more than decent upgrade... How long you had the 6T for again?

Damn - I guess there's a lot more urgent priorities in life than buying the latest phones!

Gonna hold out and see what the OP8 brings... might wait for the 8T, let's see.

Had my 6T since November 2018, and she's still buttery smooth.

I'm guessing the OnePlus 8 will be launching in SA since Vodacom is now stocking the 7t Pro.
Wow I can't believe my eyes an OnePlus device finally available on contract in SA. Pity it's so expensive though. Hope the OnePlus 8 comes as well.

I'm a huge Huawei fan and I'm currently using a Huawei device but I've always been tempted by OnePlus and with this news even more.

Vodacon is charging R26,964 (R749 x 36 months) for the 7T phone that sells new for around R13,000??

Stay away from their contracts!
