Openserve 500Mbps speedtest (different ISPs)

Odd, my Mikrotik pppoe has a max MTU of 1480 and sets to that when dialled. Was the default for pppoe

It is now running as an access point but I set the TU exactly as Vox did when the remote managed it at the time it was connected to the ONT.
Model is hAp ac2

This is on Afrihost. Really good both over ethernet and wifi gives me the same if I'm close to the router.

Interesting thing I forgot to mention, Vox 50Mbps with Vumatel FNO, I get around 48 down but if I unplug the ethernet cable or restart the router a couple of times the speed goes up to 52Mbps for a week or so and then it goes down again.

Update.

Vox called me this morning to test.

Getting full speed now. The thing is I'm not getting too excited yet because if it was only a port reset then this will only last a short while. If it does last then great.

EDIT: As expected the profile kicked in and back to 480Mbps . I mean just tell me straight if you don't plan on correcting it. I told them from the start the line is not the problem, it's the profile itself that they have setup that's limiting the speed.

Vox are probably limiting their session speeds.

How are you getting that over WIFI? I've also got a 500/250 line on Openserve through Afrihost, but I can only get those speeds using a lan cable. On WIFI I can get max 250/250, but I have my channel width set to 40Mhz on 5GHz. I'm guessing you've got a channel width of 80 or 160Mhz?

What phone and AP do you have?

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra connecting to Unifi AP Pros.
Yeah those SHOULD give you the full speed - my A52 is also somewhat limited - i get similar speeds to you but i put it down to an inferior WIFI chip

It seems to be the channel width. If I change it to 80Mhz then I can almost get my full line speed, but I don't like keeping it on 80Mhz due to some compatibility issues with other devices in the network.

I am with Vox and Openserve, 500/250 line . Getting 480.12 upload and 241.96 download. Using a Tplink touch p5 router and 5 airties 4920's

Not sure if you care but if you want to be part of the fight to get the full 532~ Mbps speed you should raise a support ticket like the other guy on Vox and see what they say. If enough people complain maybe they will take the 1minute to correct the profile

Not sure if my speed loss is due to my router and airties mesh wifi, still need to do an ethernet connection test

So in summary, the Vox 500m fibre is 10% slower than many other ISP providers? If this is true, why stay with Vix - they are definitely not 10% cheaper...
