My download speeds have been terrible for a while now, I am on a 2meg account and I'm barely getting 30KB/s. I've had this problem before, called openweb, nothing much was done to fix my speed...

MrBeep / Cableguy - I called at 8.30 this morning, opened a ticket (which has been escalated) and have sent a PM about not being able to even open a simple webpage since 8am this morning.
Is there any chance I could someone to look at this?
I've had to resort to using 3g to just access MYBB.
Please help?

My account is dead as well. And i have been moved to an alternative login a couple of days ago. It was better for about 24 hours and then went back to the slow strike again. Something is definately wrong on the OW network.

Same here, general web and mail are terrible and timing out... I thought these 2 protocols were not shaped/throttled?

Based on multiple past experiences, it's office hours...

Wait 'til 18h00 and everything will be fine.

+1

Nothing new, but who knows, if a few more people are vocal about it there could be a problem.

I do see various locations, so likely not location based.

Perhaps people should include their account type when posting, unlikely we will find a pattern since everything is so variable, but who knows, may be of interest.

I'll end up cancelling and moving to another ISP if this continues or I'll switch to gold uncapped. Anybody having issues with gold during the day?

Yes, it is not worth the hassle especially at the extra cost sometimes, off peak its great though

Unfortunately Gold is also affected by the during hours problems. If you monitor this thread, you'll see the complaints about it. There are others like here - http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/586900-Openweb-Gold-Slow.

It's not what you'd expect from Gold the way it's advertised as well as the cost. But we see many cases of people with cheaper accounts having no problems, and those on Gold having problems. There is a distinct lack of consistency. The reasons given are usually because of regional capacity/regional load issues, but I've often seen people in different locations/IPCs with cheaper/Gold accounts being affected differently, if that make sense (i.e. not always due to different regions).

Thanks. I guess I should have signed up with mweb instead :'(.

Using the report toll it seems that my line is running perfectly.
I am on the 4mb uncapped gold and in the Boksburg, Sunward Park area.
