OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

Dude... 180ms to UK is pretty damn decent...

Well, keeping in mind I am not running any torrents currently and I am not a gamer :)

The downside is that the account is quite expensive, but at this stage, since I do work from home from time to time, I rather pay more for a service that works than pondering why there are other sessions on my account or why it's unusable during the day. Do not see this as me bashing OpenWeb, I have never used them. I can merely give my feedback on using the IS network rather than MWEB or MTN.

I am sure there will be a logical explanation as to why others are having issues using their accounts.

I take it no one else is able to log in to http://users.isdsl.net/ for e.g. with their @openweb.co.za account?

Working for me on capped at least. I feel like there's some sort of DNS issue at the moment though. I keep getting "resolving host" and multiple timeouts all over the show, but tracerts show a perfect connection - no hassles...

DNS issues wouldn't explain torrents being 10-20kBs though, as with DHT you don't even need tracker name resolution.

From the traces on my side and others it seems like the problem is at the hop from local to level 3 in London, ah how I wish OW didn't run through IS more and more.

Ha, my torrents are actually running better NOW than all night, though obviously not even 1/4 full speed (which I totally understand during business hours)

Internet Solutions, as I have been saying, is the entire problem. They are worse than MWEB, trust me.

Same here... at least getting 50 KB/s
This is totally screwed up....

Judging by what is happening on the other threads, we are happy happy that IS is our chosen provider.

But I am on IS and I don't have problems usually. Downloads usually run full speed after hours and weekends, which is over 400kBps on my account. Browsing works and even Youtube usually works during the day. Gaming works 24/7.

Same. In my experience IS has been the most consistent backbone I've used.
