It depends on which service level (contention ratio) the client is on, and how busy the network is at that time. Cape Town for example is only competing with Cape Town for bandwidth, not with Joihannesburg

Just so I can understand completely.

If subscriberDBN01 is full throttle downloading 24/7 will subscriberDBN02 be shaped as well as he is in the same area and because shaping is area based?
or will subscriberDBN01 be shaped and subscriberDBN02 will not be affected because of subscriberdbn01 usage?

Well, this will be my first month on Gold Uncapped from a Red Africa account and I think it will be my last.
Left a torrent running today ( Only 1 ) and my average speed is 7.8 kb/s. I have just come home now and I see I am now downloading at 185 kb/s

I read most guys were getting 130 to 170 during the day.

Is this normal for a Gold account? I dont know???

EDIT: I must say, on the weekend it was wonderful!

Im not a complainer, but my DSL is dead and has been for a while now. I contacted tech support via telephone....still waiting for a callback. Maybe I should go back to Telkom...

Kindly PM me with your details so that I can take a look

I am on Gold uncapped 2mb and its supposed to have a 25% less contention ratio. I can only imagine how slow the vanilla uncapped must be.

But it looks like I will have to wait till tomorrow to check the speeds during the day. Going to test out the theory that Nduimiso said and I wont download at all tonight.

Something is definitely up with the Interwebz...been very intermittent tonight. Unlike the weekend when it was smooth as silk !
