@All, I have admitted the full side of the facts from my side, not that it was ever my intention of telling an one sided story.
and I have apologized yet again openly in this forum for my actions. "me the Paying Customer"

Is OW going to admit that that they are/where indeed shaping Unshaped Accounts? even if it was only to some selected Customers for whatever reason?
 
We do not shape unshaped accounts.

However, sometimes contention ratios come into play, which will slow down the connection. This can only be avoided by purchasing a 1:1 contention account, at a cost of around R9200 ex VAT per month (Telkom wholesale rate).

Ye its great to have that type of service at hand. I was forced ( By life :p ) to discontinue my OpenWeb account due to having to cut costs, only to sign up again for another account 3 weeks later! You cannot beat OpenWeb in the price vs service quality regard. :D

@blankman - well in your other thread you said the account already cancelled sooooo... try another ISP and see if get same results or better results? im pretty sure OW will be better, but because you still hanging on to the subject you clearly want to stay with OW so the get higher package. platinum then? and my consultant told me also before - if you paying less you going to get less priority where if you pay more you going to get more Priority... and i actually agree with that. eg. if im paying R900 for 4mbps uncapped shaped and paying R1500 for 4mbps platinum... which would you rather have paying you and being happy? mmmm... yup i thought so.

if you want more speed you going to have to PAY for it.

if you not happy just move on. plenty other ISP's around...

I currently have the 2mbps Gamers King special and I'm keen to upgrade it to the 4meg. Will I be charged next month as well for the 2meg if I give notice now?

gamers king 2mb... there's something seriously wrong.

cant even load speedtest. and the funny thing is that there's an openweb ad on the speedtest landing page...

even normal web browsing is very very slow. cant open OW page either.

any problems on the network mrbeep?
 
@HApyM3al, Thanx yes, I am well aware of the fact, I have no problem with my account being stopped as well I don't have a problem paying for Service that is as advertised.

I will say this that I am happy there are many happy OW customers, as I have a few friends and family that I have recommended to move to them, I only hope that OW live up to their promise and account entitlement/services.

I am not the only one who has experienced this, and if this helps service delivery for other OW users, then what I have done with this post has severed to improve service for them.

I, through my friends and family will monitor their service closely and report back to you guys.

I have had many ADSL accounts and moved between them for reasons of cost services and lifestyle choice . . .

I do not believe that you are being totally honest here, i have had a shaped and fiber account from Access and I could clearly see, as per my contract held, that @8AM till 8PM my account was shaped and or throttled. I had no problem with this as that is what i was paying for.

My account i had with you was throttled @ 8AM till 5PM, exactly the same as a shaped account. So please explain your Contention Ratio Theory again.

Please take note of the following taken before you changed the wording on your site .... this is your own words.

"With a lower contention ratio and high priority on our network, clients can rest assured that if their Telkom line is up, their ADSL access will be available. Gold Uncapped Unshaped is 100% unshaped, with no limits. Full speed access all day!"

please explain that !!

Openweb is shaped between 8 and 5 fact, I see it everyday on my account. Lucky I only use it for gaming at night, during the day its office use only.

Eish, this and several other posts about specifically Gamers King accounts has me worried.

I know its supposed to be "Standard" level contention ratio in the day but does that mean its this bad? :(

What protocol you dling via?

Office use includes browsing, right?

Right.

I couldn't even do that :(
