Hi Friends,

It is unfortunate that one user hiding behind a MyBB nickname is allowed to spread so many untruths about a company without being stopped. OpenWeb is not, and will not be oversubscribed, ever. Our service level will not drop. If we drop the ball, we will apologise, fix it, and move forward.

It is through your loyalty we have tried to maintain the high level of service you have become accustomed to. I believe we have succeeded, and will continue to strive for only the best.

I will always fight for real change in the broadband arena, as I have been doing since OpenWeb started. Many might not know how OpenWeb came about, it would be an interesting topic to Google.

Oversubscribing is not, and will never be an option.

I understand were you're coming from, but funny lately that shaping "due to network load" seems to start and end at the exact times everyday on the hour.

I will do more testing now though.

I don't think he was referring to you, but rather to Blankman. The way the response was structured did make it sound like he was referring to you, but as far as I can see you haven't said anything untruthful.

This. BlankMan is just a nuisance on this forum. I agree that he has the right to voice his concerns but to spam the board constantly with the same thing is just not on.

and to think last year, at about this time I was still using 8ta 10GB with 100ms pings.

How a year can change things.

The shaping is both network load related and time related.

As many have shown already, openweb flies fullspeed at exactly 5pm-8am. There is no refuting the fact that there is a hard shaping timer in place which is switched off at EXACTLY 5pm

Yet the reason we pay for a GOLD account is so that shaping isn't as bad.

Might as well be on standard then or an after hours account.
 
Im leaning towards that thinking too, why pay more?

Hi Guys,

It is most likely that there is something specifically wrong with your account. Ask MrBeep to take a look at your accounts because you should NOT be getting those speeds...
 
Kindly PM me your ADSL username so that I can take a look.

Gold will perform better than Silver or Standard. It is wired to perform better. It will however still be shaped during peak network periods.

Any network problems tonight? On Silver uncapped 10mbps, my speeds are fluctuating all over the place - 300k/sec to 950k/sec down to 500, etc.

Edit: talking about international speeds - local speed tests are full 10mbps

i cant connect to my acc
when i login with telkom it works
but it wont connect with my ow acc
worked fine last night
 
Can't login into my account either, I think this is because of my debit order failing (Dammit Standard Bank :O) or because of a real issue.
Anyone else having problems?
 
ya,i just looked at my email
and it said my debit order failed

i am with capitec bank and i had alot of crap b4 they gotten my debit card details right,and now it fails :/
dont think debit orders is ow's thing :P

its not my fault that they cant get there debit orders right,now i am with out real internet

i did that and got disconected :/

OW debit order is going from my Capitec account and had no issues with it since day 1.
 
Anyone else getting odd speeds? I was expecting the taps to open up, but can't even stream 240p on yt..
