If you order an account not on promotion, and you select once off, you are not subject to any notice.

Had major issues on openweb via saix with the saix network having problems. Got switched over to IS, and now flying. Thx Keoma for helping me even after hours
 
Hi all,

Need some advice from those who are using the OW accounts.
I'm getting irritated with the account I have. played online got DC 5 times another DC for packet loss and I can keep on complaining but need to move.

I do download a lot and I’m also playing online games a lot so what package will suite me. I’m on a uncapped 4mb line currently. I need to make sure I get the correct ISP don’t like hopping around.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Hiya - Another very unhappy Afrihost user here. I have my ADSL line with Afrihost (yes, I know, shouldn't have done that :-( ).

Anyway, if I sign up for one of the special accounts (uncapped) - will this be an issue? Will Openweb automatically transfer my ADSL line to them?

Also, on uncapped, will latency for gaming be OK? I am currently on capped at Afrihost.

Hi balrog,

OpenWeb does not offer line rental currently.

You must please request your current ISP to push your line back toTelkom.

In the meantime, please take advantage of the Free November offer:

What I would like to know is at what amount of data use do you start shaping?
 
Hi No-Rules,

We do not base shaping on usage. On a shaped product, we shape based on how busy the network is at any given time.

Generally, this is only during office hours, but this cannot be guaranteed. When the network is quiet, shaping automatically lifts

On average, around 65% of any given month you will experience unshaped access.

On the Uncapped acounts (like the ones on Special) - how is the latency for gaming? (PC and PS3). Is gaming traffic prioritised somehow? Or at least not shaped/throttled?

I need good pings and NO timeouts :-)
 
Sorry, one more stupid question :-)

While my line is with Afrihost (in process of being moved to Telkom) - my account with Openweb should still work fine? Or will Afrihost "block" it?

Latency is good, as gaming traffic receives priority :)

5gig since yesterday and no service interruption. At one point i was trying to browse and it was horribly slow, i then asked my gf and she was raping the net for torrents:P
