OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread

I did a speed test last night with OpenWeb's Standard (R197) trial account. Here's the results:

The ping seems to be misleading, as I was playing TF2 this morning and got 31ms on a local server and 202ms on an european server.
Downloaded a 300mb torrent this monday morning. I averaged 93kb/s and peaked at 113kb/s

I am very pleased with this account, and will be moving to them. :)
 
What kind of speeds do you get on the news server? I have a 6MB line, so am rather curious how this would compare to lets say downloading Torrent Magnet Links
 
Local is flying.

Test conducted on 26 November 2012 03:36:58 PM

Download Speed: 1671 kbps (208.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 396 kbps (49.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 53 ms

International is not.

Test conducted on 26 November 2012 03:44:35 PM

Download Speed: 41 kbps (5.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 413 kbps (51.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 173 ms

This seems to be a regular thing with office hours on week days.

Mr Beep. Its a regular thing. Ive reported it twice before and been issued with a new account once. Seems to happen most after a heavy weekend of downloading. I really dont mind taking a speed hit during working hours, but it would be nice to have closer to 50KB/s during those times. (and yes im religous about not doing torrents during working hours, weekends and evenings only)
 
Still loving my account. Doesn't run full speed during the day, but it still works good enough. I love coming home to full speed internet every evening though.

Keep up the excellent work :D

I have experienced this 2 times in as many weeks. Router either loosing authentication or its unable to resolve an IP from you (perhaps the same issue). Not too big of a deal since it came back with a quick router reboot.

There are no general issues currently on the network.

Sometimes, Telkom leaves a ghost session on the account (they do not announce that your router has disconnected), preventing you from relogging on. It is most evident on certain uncapped accounts due to the 1 concurrent connection limit.

Gaming in my uncapped has been awesome, as has downloading. Kicks afrihost hands down
 
Been having really bad speeds for the last two days and now I can barely load gmail with my openweb acc.

Im using a 1gig capped account now (not openweb acc.) and speed is fine so not my line.

I have emailed the tech support so lets see....

Well, i have the Vanilla 1mb uncapped account that i've been using for 1 month now.

all i can say is thank you thank you thank you openweb. Great speeds all the time, i've used 55gb +- without a hitch, no warnings or any throttling, it just cruises along. Gaming is also fantastic.

I tried uncapped accounts from Afrihost and WA and they dont even come remotely close to this account.

Thanks again and keep up the good work, i'm sure you guys will become a top top ISP at this rate.

just want to thank OpenWeb, joined last night after finally having had enough with the Axxess/Afrihost debacle of the last couple of months and I nearly cried seeing full line speeds again! Also, the awesome client service has to be commended, still got PM’s from MrBeep after 21:00 last night!

Can anyone post the link for the IS URL where we can check our usage stats, I went a bit nuts last night and just want to keep myself in check, don’t want to get throttled after only 24 hours of use! ;p
 
MrBeeb, my account is still flying. I love this saix backbone one...everything is full speed. Best account I've ever had.
