Openweb 10Mbps uncapped feedback

Hi Guys, just thought that I should post feedback on my Openweb 10Mbps Gamer's King uncapped account for R596pm.

Moved from MWEB because I was unhappy with the new throttling and shaping etc.

BOY AM I UNHAPPY NOW

Had this openweb account 2 days and already gave my 1 month notice to cancel.
My line is not at fault and things were fine on mweb account

This gamer's king account is lagging badly on the Internet solutions backbone with their own IPC.
Been having lag spikes all weekend. unacceptable and this was never the case with MWEB

Secondly downloading today (Sat) is fluctuating at between 200Kbps to 550Kbps and never goes above 700Kbps.
When I tested the trial account it was not lagging and I was getting 1000Kbps.
These people are snakes full of marketing BS!
Seeing also as a lot of ppl are moving from MWEB to Openweb this can only get worse. STAY AWAY!
Am ordering Do 10Mbps from Telkom for R699pm in 3 weeks time.
Gaming is never a problem on the Telkom backbone and ping times are the lowest usually on Telkom network.

Ok. KB and Kb.

200Kbps is 25KB/s. 1000Kbps is 125KB/s. So you got 25KB/s on the acc and then you got 125KB/s on the trial on a 10Mbps line?

Seems so wrong unless you're confusing your KB and Kb.

Did you actually log a call with support?
He says his line was fine on M-Web. Things should "just work" when you go on to another ISP in such a case.

What I would like to know...why did he move away from M-Web when things were fine there? I did read the reason of shaping/throttling, but still, he mentioned things were working at least.

Honestly use your brain and think before you type. He obviously means KB! The trial accounts are deceiving.

Hi Dirk,

I am sorry to read this.

I must however confess that your comments are very harsh. OpenWeb has many thousands of happy clients. Because you are having an issue, it does not mean we are 'snakes'.

Kindly PM me with your ADSL username / s so that I can personally investigate.

We do hope you guys are enjoying your unshaped weekend?

I know I am :)

Network is flying for me today. Sounds like there may possibly be a regional issue at fault.

I am also an OW client. How do you manage those speeds? I am on a 2mb line and seldom go above 0.6mb

If you are experiencing slow speeds right now, it is more than likely a Telkom or router fault.

Kindly call Telkom on 10210 and log a fault.

The network has been completely unshaped since Friday evening.

Then there is most likely something wrong with your line. You should be getting around 1.7 - 1.8Mbps on a 2Mbit line.

What do your ADSL line stats look like?

Anyone having issues with international connectivity? Mines been completely dead for the past 10 min

Yes graytg,

I've been having the same issue since last night. I can't access any International sites. Very frustrating.

Brother complaining about speeds and small downloads cutting off in cpt. Is there a regional issue perhaps?

No, there are zero general issues currently. Kindly ask your brother to contact us so that we can take a look.
