When I see post count '1' and I see: MY SPEED IS SLOW. OPENWEB ARE THIEVES!!!!!! CLOSE THEM DOWN. DEAMONSSSSSSSS!!!! I sit back and smile :)

seems people register just to complain. woould love to see a one post wonder that compliments. oh what speed does your 'slow' equate to?

Ah, I have posted and complained about my service, it was resolved and I've been saying for a while now that I'm happy with my OpenWeb account :) Slow is relative, and ADSL is a fickle beast, as long I have connectivity, I'm pretty happy. Honestly, expecting 100% line speeds all the time is just silly, it's going to be slow during the day, that's expected, it's after hours that counts. Like right now, my DSL is purring along quite nicely, thank you.
 
i dont understand the conspiracy theory mentality, just because of 1 post. there are tonnes of posts from long time users with the same problems. there are all problems and defenders of openweb should understand this and let the official support do there jobs. 1 post wonders should post a speedtest to show they are on openweb.

mrbeep i am waiting patientyl, can you please explain the difference of the accounts you move people to and from.
 
I've had great speeds today. No issues at all here in JHB on Openweb Gold...

Well I can say with utmost certainty that since you did that week long trouble shooting with my account and routing issues - and now that Telkom have moved my areas port on the ESR - I have been in full speed heaven all day and night long for the past few days.

Its bliss.

You can turn off the modem for 30 minutes and it will reset afaik. Might save you a 30 minute phone call.

Yup done that already, im on the Cybersmart account right now, HD streaming wonderfully, huluplus buffer is full, browsing the web here while it streams on the projector no issues.

Telkom has already confirmed the line is fine as well, not sure what else to do.

Openweb has great service and have always been very helpful, it is only now that I am having this issue with streaming and just cannot get it sorted.

I am going to ask Telkom to drop my line speed as the data portion is only 4mbps and do another line reset then try again.

Okay so dropped the line speed to 6mbps, had them reset the port, ran multiple tests, line is extremely stable streaming is slightly better but not much, again watched a single episode HD streaming fine and the near the end it drops to SD and then just gets worse.

At least its kind of nice to know im not the only one :p . Msged MrBEEP 2 days ago about the streaming issue he said that the engineers were investigating the issue.
 
Anybody on a 10mb Gamer King account getting full line speed with on NNTP at the moment? I'm shaped to about 500kBps. Unusual for 7pm.

MrBEEP: Is the network busy at the moment?

Anyone experiencing streaming issues in the Cape? I'm on 2M uncapped gold, speedtests were normal (1.7 down, 0.4 Up) but YouTube was impossible last night... :/
 
Hmmm my account stopped authenticating again this morning. Replied to the last ticket I had for this problem, in the client area.

I had the same issue a week or two ago, turned out to be the physical port that was wonky - Telkom replaced it and everything went back to normal again. I only found that out by trying a different account though.

It is not an adsl port issue, or a telkom issue, or a line issue.
My FNB connect account authenticates just fine.
Telkom guest account authenticates fine.
Openweb account doesnt authenticate.

Same here, something funny going on, I phoned OPENWEB to check, waiting for reply. I'm on 4meg uncapped, and it was streaming at about 1K the whole morning, also speedtest says Down 3.0 Mbps Up 0.5Mbps

Just shot up to about 150 now and then dropped off again.

Waiting patiently to see what happens, just hope it gets sorted today.
