I would say that is your problem.
My SNR is 30db, your's is 15db.
My atten is around 20db, your's is 60db.

Are you far from the exchange?

I would log a line fault with Telkom (packet loss - noisy line)

Alas so far that 2mbps is the fastest they can give me, been fighting with them for a mini dslam for ages as the exchange is at least 4-5 kms away. My speeds are good, i can watch streaming videos usually and STO was fantastic up until thursday, now I can't even log in anymore.

PM TelkomZA, they pretty jacked up.

Just to add, your upload speed is also very low, should be in the region of 256kbps and up. My 2Mb line syncs at 2048/512 kbps.

As wingnut said, the best course of action is to PM/Tweet TelkomZA for reasonably fast results.

Many thanks guys, I have pm'd TelkomZA, let's see where this leads :)

Also, try changing your ADSL mode, maybe the lower versions are less sensitive?

Grammatical error and typo in the capped usage email notifications:

Don\'t you love knowing that OpenWeb runs on 3 x international fibre cables. This means that if one of them experience(s) an outage or fault, you will hardly feel the difference!

Can give you this advice - but up to you if you want to use it .

I had a similar problem, and so I found an ISP that also looks after the line rental. I was pushing Telkom on my side and they pushed Telkom from their side. Might even be an idea to use TI for a bit and make it all Telkoms problem if you don't come right.

I also found wet weather affected my SNR and attenuation as did humidity.

The double effort help get the line SNR issues resolved.

Good Luck

MrBEEP I sent support a email early this morning. Seems my account stopped authenticating?

*edit*

Telkom did a port reset and it came back to me. Please disregards this message :).

Hallo MrBEEP

Can you please advise what the difference between the 2Mb Gold Uncapped (Power Edition) and the 2Mb Gold Uncapped (Leon Edition) is. Is the contention ratio on the Leon Gold slightly better, and what other differences are there?

Hi MrBEEP,

Can you please assist with my account upgrade. Email has already been sent, waiting on a reply from admin/support.

Hi Diabolix,

Unfortunately I cannot perform the upgrade process.

However, if you have still not received a response by tomorrow morning, drop me a PM and I can investigate for you.

1 Feb IPC cuts.

I assume this means that Openweb will be able to drop prices or increase service quality, or both, MrBEEP?

We will be increasing the service quality by a few percent.
