Anyone experiencing very slow international? I can not update drivers. Doing 5kb on 2 mb line

I have a 1mb Gamer' King Account. I decided on this account as it has Platinum level priority for gaming, and Vanilla level priority for all other traffic. The reason for this is that I enjoy spending a few hours every evening playing online, at which time the missus usually entertains herself on Facebook or other blogs. I wanted to avoid her browsing from interfering with my gaming.

Unfortunately, that is not really the case. I get huge lag spikes, rubber banding and delay if she is surfing the interwebs while I play, which pretty much defeats the purpose of getting this specific account. Is this supposed to be the case, and would I have to upgrade to a faster line speed to really benefit from the different priorities? If I have the line to myself, everything works perfectly: ping is low and response times are excellent.

Any help?

Try QoS on your routing?
 
my time on capped telkom has prepared me for daytime speeds. if i get decent speeds during the day its a bonus. if i was at home i would just be gaming anyways and thats fine even with the shaping.
 
No internet for the long weekend it seems, maybe after 5....

I am ISp less at the moment. Looking for a new ISP. Appreciate great browsing experience when I get home and I download after 10pm till 7am.

Any suggestions?
 
I was moved to a different account this morning, openweb gold 2mb uncapped. Its flying , 150k/s +
 
International browsing and DL (Software updates) is dead. Gaming like WOW is perfect though...weird

My dl were dead and struggling aswell.
Going better now, but still KB short of my usual speed.

I'm on a different ISP though
 
My internet died for a few minutes about an hour back and from there I've been experiencing major packet loss in online games.
 
Account's been shaky the past day or so, with this afternoon being an absolute no go. Is this related to Seacom being out?

If you don't use your internet at home during office hours (8-5) then gold is perfect, flies after 5pm
 
Local speed is blazing but international is really bad, after 5pm its always flying.
Shaping in my experience during business hours has been harsh this month.Almost feel like an aftehours uncapped account.
 
I would really like to use my new Gold uncapped and report back, but my account is stuck at "Awaiting EFT Proof of Payment/Debit Order Activation" since 7:15AM today. :cry:
 
Our internation line is still dead slow.... thought it would get better after 17:00 but didnt
 
My local speed test are fine, maybe some internation problem no-one knows about yet
