I am only lagging in online gaming all other speeds are great, just games online, anyway maybe something wrong somewhere overseas :)

I've been flying all weekend - no probs on this side with the Silver uncapped 6Mbps

Oddly enough the Telkom techie was here today. He said my line was congested and did something at my exchange, an hour later running on full throttle... happier than my cat with biltong...

Hey MrBeep. If possible, could you perhaps please post the reason OpenWeb makes use of a calendar months' cancellation period in this thread? I'm trying to compose a list of which ISPs make use of this cancellation method and the justifications behind it. Thanks.

This issue has been well documented in this thread. Why don't u just get quotes from this thread?

Get the most money out of the customer as possible before they go, pretty simple.

Hi MrBeep

My @openweb account is virtually stone cold this morning but my @dsl-bcsnet.co.za account is working fine. My problem is the @dsl-bcsnet.co.za account is slow after business hours.

Hi Fox1,

Please email [email protected] so that we can take a look

i have sent an just emailed support, but I am seriously thinking that I have made a mistake cancelling mweb to move to openweb. The daytime speeds are terrible.

I have Cancelled my mweb account but my line has been in limbo since the first. In my list of potential ISP's were Telkom and Openweb. it's the 8th, Seeing that Telkom does not do pro rata and I heard that Openweb not only does, but also the best in town. I was just about to take the plunge

But after reading this, I'm back to scratching my chin. Is it just your daytime speeds? What account are you on? If I may.

I'm on 10M GOLD account - speeds great after about 5pm during the week and all weekend. During the day from 8am to 5pm speeds are dismall. Any downloads sit at between 20KB/s and 50KB/s - definitely not a good experience during the day for a Premium account!

I don't download during the day though. If I can get near line speed after 5 and weekends for Streaming and NNTP, I'm good

I see you managed to pull 81GB on Saturday, 80GB on Sunday and 21GB so far today. This does not indicate that there is a much of a problem with your account?

I see Charmaine is handling your query. You are in safe hands with her

MrBEEP, we keep on going around in circles with this.
Once again, let me state the following:
1. The package is great when used after hours - that is where all these downloads occur. - Ok? everybody with me on this?
Now, lets look at what happens from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday - this morning, I cannot even send an email to your support desk because of my speeds on a so called Premium package, I cannot even open speedtest.net, I cannot download ANYTHING, and when I am lucky enough to be able to do so, then my speeds are between 20KB/s and 50KB/s.

Now, based on the splurb you guys have made on the GOLD packages, how can you tell me that there is no problem?
How can you tell me that for 8 hours a day, on a 10M GOLD premium package, showing non-existing speeds for one third of each 24 hour period, that there is no problem?

MrBEEP, are we on the same planet or am I just asking for too much? Yes, shape me during business/high bandwidth periods, but to the extent that this is happening goes contrary to the decription of the GOLD account.
