Is there a way to increase my origin download speed? Steam averages 700kb/s but Origin is crawling between 150-200kb/s.

What DNS servers are you using? When I used Google's DNS servers Origin downloaded extremely slow, changing the primary DNS to 168.210.2.2 ensured that my Origin downloads max out my full line speed. If you're already using 168.210.2.2 as primary DNS, then something else is wrong.
 
I was about to suggest this.

Kindly change your DNS to:

Primary DNS: 168.210.2.2
Secondary DNS: 196.14.239.2

Origin is complete bull****. They've always got horrendously slow download speeds. Check on international forums and you'll see how many people are complaining about them.
 
The last week on my OpenWeb Gold Uncapped has been beyond terrible.

Web-sites time out often enough that it is really becoming an annoyance. All my NZB downloads fail because it takes hours to download which means it is removed (DMCA) before it can finish.

Really useless tbh.

I hope this all ends when the cables are fixed :(

Use the IS news servers to avoid DMCA on new content
 
I do not believe your issue is cable related, as there is currently no general issue that should cause your problem.

Kindly PM me so that I can investigate.

The network is currently completely unshaped. I am sure many OpenWebbers can concur.

Yep. Have a 100MB left on a file. It says it will be finished in 4 minutes. :)

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately my
speed is still jumping between 150-200kb/s.

Only settings I have is Origin > Application settings. But can't find the setting for download servers. Is this done somewhere in the back-end perhaps?

I /may/ be confusing the download source with the way Steam works.
I'm not at home so I can't really look.

You can't change your download region in Origin like you can in Steam. Origin uses a really weird way of allocating which server you connect to. So if the DNS server change didn't work, then you're sol unfortunately. However, there is a way long and cumbersome way for you to change to which server you connect to, but I seriously doubt anyone would go to that amount of effort just to get better download speeds.

My favourite distro at the moment- this'll be the 4th time I read that news!
