So those of us who have been on Gold uncapped accounts for years now, which one are we assigned? I got my Gold Uncapped account on promotion for R258/month 2 years ago and I would certainly be less than impressed if my contention ratio and/or shaping policy has been made stricter now.

Hi,

I have an OpenWeb Gold 4mb account (the one that was on promotion a few months ago - not sure what 'tier' it is).

I have been happy with it so far but today MTN's Cape Town server is speed testing me at 0.88 down and 0.42 up. I am based in Simonstown.

I only checked because I was unable to have a TeamViewer chat with someone in London (on a fibre line). No Video, just voice but impossibly choppy.

Any known issues?

since my new account, I have really been impressed with Openweb, to me the BEST ISP around, I understand that some peoples opinions won't be the same, but I have had great service thus far. Excellent stuff MrBeep, a pleasure to be with you guys...
 
Live RTMP streams still getting butchered on 4MB Gold in office hours. :( They burst and then get throttled down to nothing. Burst and throttle. Burst and throttle. Painful to watch.

Whereas they play perfectly on my Afrihost back up account.

This is still a problem. And it is a problem even now after 5pm. Its infuriating.

Had to switch to Afrihost to get a steady stream.

I would like to investigate this matter. Kindly email me: [email protected] with as many details as possible (server IP's etc) and we will investigate

In-game latencies very up and down after a perfect weekend...To many variable...

Ditto here for me as well, extremely slow throughput of data (2Mbit uncapped Gold). For me it is not just international, it is everything (mail, web traffic, etc.). Something is definitely not right (it’s not congestion; first hop is 8ms so that’s perfect).
