My test account is dead. Have done less than 100mb. Had to go back to my M-Web account. I PM'd MrBeep when he was online. I notice he is offline now.

On the gamers king features it says "Around 60% of any given month will be completely unshaped" what does this mean exactly?

Most weeknights (5:30pm - 8:00am), public holidays and weekends are unshaped if the network is quiet enough :)

Thank you.. If it's shaped will the speeds be terrible or half decent? Eg. if I'm on a 2mb package will I get around 1mb speed (Which is decent for me for browsing and some important university work) or 500kbps and lower (which is unbearable)?

In my experience, no... my connection is unusable during shaped periods.

Admittedly, I go balls to the wall during unshaped times... so I may get extra-penalised...

Keep in mind different accounts have different shaping rules. In general with all ISP's the threshold on a 10MB account would be much larger than the threshold on a 4MB account. Maybe MrBEEP can clarify if the case is the same with OpenWeb ?

I see even though this package is great, that is a bit of deal breaker for me

Sure. For clarity's sake, i'm on 4mb Gamer's King, 99% downloading NNTP. but during shaping periods, youtube browsing, http downloads are all impacted (i.e. don't even try). This seldom bothers me, as i'm normally at work during those periods... i

Yes I really want this deal before Gamers king deals run out.. I'm hoping for more responses on the experience when shaped.

I was on the Gamers King account, during the day shaping was quite aggressive but usable. At night though everything ran like a dream. I'm on the 10Mbit Gold now

Best thing that ever happened. I can stream 1080p YouTube and HD Netflix right now with no stuttering.

How does this account fair during shaping hours ? As an independent game designer I need an account where I can constantly use my FTP server without having to worry about low speed or getting shaped but I can't afford an unshaped account.

It does bloody well. Ask MrBEEP for a test account and have a look see for yourself.

I've seen my 10mb Gamer King account shape my NNTP & torrents to between 10% & 60% of my line speed (100kBps - 600kBps) during the day, but browsing & YouTube is usually fully speed. When it isn't, I query it with support and they usually sort it out.

After hours is full steam ahead :D

Am on old Gold 10MB account and the speeds today are abismal.
Local speedtest to JHB Mweb ok, but speedtest to London is very bad:
http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/2890164377
http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/2890
Torrents sitting at 20kB/s and downloads via JDownloader sitting at 40kB/s (both of these fly after 17h00 using exactly the same links)
Is this normal on a day like this on an old Gold 10MB account ?
Mr. Beep, please would you check for me?

With MWEB I used to have full speed on P2P during office hours ever since I had my account and now they came with their BS email. That's no way to treat a "premium customer". I am happy with my OpenWeb speeds so far. Going like a dream.
