Edit : and now its fine , seems to come and go along with heavy packet loss to teamspeak...

That's happening because a router between you and the server is dropping the packets used for tracert, meaning the trace can't go any further.

You'll have to use ping instead, unless someone else here has another suggestion.

The HTTP is always slow, as a matter of fact I had to logon with a prepaid axxess account because I was unable to even open mybroadband using the openweb account.

And you guys are wasting my time in this matter, it's been WEEKS now.

Do not tell me you can use it without any problems, you are accessing it from within your data center, of course it is going to be fine!
Don't tell me the network has been unshaped since 5pm either, it is irrelevant to me because MY internet is slow.

I have no reason to lie about this! I would not be doing this if I didn't have a problem. I've had this issue for a few weeks now and I am sick and tired of it.

How is it possible that my FTP speeds are fine but my HTTP caps out at 30 kbps?! Clearly there is something wrong with the account.

MrBEEP: We have 6 x test lines across the country. These are normal, Telkom ADSL test lines installed in homes and businesses across the country. They make no special connection to our datacentre. Therefore, any tests done are performed from a normal environment, in order to accurately test the account.

MrBEEP: This generally points to a faulty router or line. We have a few cases identical to this in the past. Your first step can be to reset your router to factory details, and reconfigure it. Download a copy of our handy router setup guide here: http://www.openweb.co.za/setup/OWRouterSetupGuide.pdf You will probably find that there is a corrupt QoS setting on the router or similar.

Have you had Telkom take a look at your line yet?

I am able to hit 8mbs download speeds when I'm using FTP protocol. It hits 8mbs almost instantly.

My line is perfectly fine. I am using axxess prepaid at this moment in time and I have no issues what-so-ever with surfing. The openweb account didn't even let me log onto mybroadband let alone openweb's own website.
 
I can assure you we have never had an account with this fault. I can probably bet my career on the fact that this would not be an account fault.

Kindly PM me and I will send you a complimentary new router. Please however call Telkom in the meantime, and take my suggestions above into consideration

I moved across to OW Gold because of the MWEB fiasco and since my line syncs at 6Mbps, I took the 6Mb package. In general, it's good, I have no other major complaints BUT I watch Revision 3 a LOT and I cannot have a spotty streaming experience like I am now.

So please can we try to get to the bottom of this? I can provide any info that you need from me.

I wanted to watch a live streaming video but noticed it was pretty slow. At first I thought maybe the site is lagging. My nntp was running at full speed earlier this morning so thought little of it. I did a ping test to check that nothing was downloading on my line, and a local ping was 16ms (50km away) which is normal for me.
I did a speed test and found this:
I'm thinking perhaps there's something bugged with international or something??

I see Leon is assisting you with this issue.

We do not have much time to troubleshoot though as your account expires at midnight
