Mine was great for the past few weeks, very slow today. Hope it's not something serious. Will check again tomorrow. Hopefully it is back to normal.

Turn your router off for 20 minutes and then on again. See if that fixes it ;) Otherwise, check line stats etc. and email support tomorrow if not resolved.

Hey Friends,

We have managed to secure an additional 30 x Gamers King Uncapped accounts. We are only releasing them on MyBroadband.

You must hurry, as yesterday along we received over 50 queries for this account type.

Really impressed with Openweb 4mb Gamer King account. Thanks Openweb.

Torrents don't download full speed (about 2mb), but after some heavy downloading the speed doesn't decrease even further either. So that's cool. A consistent speed, only somewhat shaped. :)

A question :
How is Netflix streaming on 4mb? Has anyone tried it? MrBeep, do you expect streaming to work well on this type of account?

I have the 10mb Gamer King and Netflix streams well after hours. You should get 720p on 4mb as long as you use an optimized device like the WD TV Live, as opposed to your PC's browser or an Xbox, neither of which manage to stream HD even during unshaped periods. I've tested with Mweb, Afrihost & OpenWeb, and the results are pretty much always the same. The only way I can get 720p/1080p is with my WD TV Live (after hours).

Thinking of upgrading to the Silver (Brandy) 4Mbps Account. I'm currently on Standard 4Mbps.

Anyone ever gone up to Silver? Worth it?

Wow that's exactly the advice I wanted to hear, as I wanted to use the xbox but was uncertain. I wonder how one of those smart Samsung blu ray players, that essentially turns your tv into a smart tv, will work with streaming.

It sucks that it only streams well after hours, as I definitely want it for daytime use as well. Shouldn't this type of account stream fairly well during daytime hours as it supposedly is for downloaders as well?

Can streaming quality be lower than 720? I have only a 32 inch screen so I am hoping it would still be acceptable.

Thanks again for great advice

Browsing very slow for me since yesterday morning. Ping is good, so I doubt it is Exchange congestion... again.

The WD Live isnt true 720p, that is why it plays fine. Your PC and XBOX struggle since it tries to get a better quality stream that your 4Mb line cannot provide.

NetFlix has an option to force your account to only get SD content, so it wont try to get better and stutter. It's under your account options when you log in on their website

Ok, this is weird! as from 2 minutes ago i can no longer access any international sites! I'm able to access these sites (ie. facebook, youtube and guildwars2) from my telkom account but not when connected via my openweb account. Using a 2MB uncapped Gamers King account.

Anyone else notice anything weird?

Out of interest here is what bandwidth requirements look like for SuperHD quality. Playback from a Roku 3.

I'm also having browsing issues for 3 days now, can't open Facebook or any other international sites properly before 5 pm. I am on a 2 MB Gold uncapped account and I understand there is shaping for downloads but shouldn't affect browsing surely?

Shaping will never affect browsing.

If you are experiencing an issue, please email [email protected] so that we can investigate
