It is a maybe.

It depends on how busy the network is.

Streaming gets no specific priority on everyday uncapped like on Gold.

well not everyone can afford the gold. i doubt you footing the bill for your shiny internet. seem to remember threads about your youngness. the hybrid accounts had a place. sure it complicates it for the ISP. but as clients we are worried about our own concerns. i think losing those accounts is a blow. now its everyday or gold at almost double. not much choice there.

checked the website and that gold offering is out of reach. if everyday uncapped is not good enough then its rock and a hard place time at OW. well for me at least.
 
Going gold is worth it imo.

As I've said before, since I've educated myself about the various factors that influence speeds, and how to check for these problems, I've been able to conclude that 99% of my problems have been Telkom and exchange congestion related. My Gold account has been fine...

Have you tried the Everyday Uncapped yet? Do you KNOW that it's inferior? Or are you basing this off of fear that it wont meet usual standards?

I'm sure that if the Everyday Uncapped has a negative effect on OW and their respective clients things will change. It just takes a few people making some noise. As for my age, it is non of your business, neither is who pays for my connection.

or just the original and orange

i am real tempted to go for the orange one next week

I'm on Gold Orange. Absolutely beast performance when streaming as long as nothing else is hogging your bandwidth. Ask MrBEEP for a trial if possible.

it is when you declaring that gold is worth every cent but NOT paying for it yourself. most of us i imagine are footing the bill for our accounts with OW.
 
i know its alot to pay for the 4mbps

but i am a youtube addict :P

i dont torrent in the day
only over night and weekends if u want to dl something

but will be intresting to know how it is in the day

i am on gamers king atm,and torrents is dead in the day
but at night it runs good

u can get a trail for the orange gold?
will be nice to test it,and see for my self

ur also on 4mbps,jasper?
 
I'm on 10Mbs. Torrents during the day are shaped heavily. Around 5-10% of my line speed. I'd try out the 10Mbs Everyday Uncapped for a while, If that doesn't work out as well as you'd like, upgrade to the 4Mb Gold.
 
Im confused, Im on 1MB GOLD LEON EDITION which i got on special.

What are my options when the speed upgrades rollout?

Are OW going to bump my account up to 2MB GOLD? or Do i have to cancel the account entirely and purchase a new one? or request them to change my package?

Isnt that abit of a scam though..

Advertizing these specials as "you keep them for life"

Im currently on Gold Uncapped at R229, i really dont want to go down to Everyday day uncapped but would rather not pay R400 either for Gold Uncapped 2mb

they should of added "you keep them for life....until telkom up's your ADSL speed then you account is practically useless and we request you to buy a new one"

Being on a 2mb ADSL and a 1MB account is basically using half your internet potential, practically stupid to do so.

Plus i was planning on spending R229 for Gold Uncapped "for life"

Now i am forced to change.. OpenWeb needs to make better decisions.
