Matthew, you still have your 1Mbs account as usual. I don't see how OW not upgrading you for free affects you. MrBEEP said that the extra IPC will be used for our unshaped weekends. A FREE line upgrade can't be bad in any way. It may even help your overheads and you may see a 0.10-0.20Mbs increase in your downloads.

Now i am forced to change.. OpenWeb needs to make better decisions.

How on earth do you expect a company to operate like this? You expect them to double their bandwidth provisions with no contention ratio adjustments at the same price point to consumers? Are you sure that you even understand the very basics of the issues you're arguing?

, It makes no business sense to keep existing clients on 1MB which they will no longer sell...

Its like having a 384 account with a 1mb/s line.. and 1mb is being phased out.

More is often better.

anyway, I need help, what can i replace my OW GOLD 1MB [LEON Edition] with that is 2MB and offers the same brilliance.

I play tons of games, download sometimes, Ping means alot to me, im currently getting 176ms to EU servers.

Openweb Gold 2Mb. It really is that simple. Your Telkom line is now provisioned to 2Mb and it is up to you whether you choose to use a 2Mb ISP connection.

Knowing Openweb, they will in all likelihood be releasing products to match the new Telkom upgrades in due course...
 
well lets say they have eg 500gb/s line for us all to use

and in total now we only use 300gb/s total
now when they upgrade every one also for free

the load will be 600gb/s and they can only supply 500gb/s

so that will mean,sharping will be more and more unstable

so openweb are trying to keep there quality and not to over load there system,that will mean bad speed for us
 
SO i have to pay R400 instead of R229 now..

Making the "limited edition" account i bought on special not so special.. I loose the special.


Can someone with 2MB GOLD and 2MB EVERYDAY UNCAPPED please post pings to bbc.co.uk

u dont have to upgrade

u can "downgrade" your line
and still pay R229 for the data and then pay telkom less for the line

so u will pay cheaper for the same speed u have now

You're not forced to change accounts. You bought a 1Mbs Gold LEON when it was available. It's not any more, either upgrade or stay where you are.

I am currently on 1MB, they said they will phase out 1MB lines, so thats not happening

I would prefer if they released gold 2MB LEON so i can still keep the special..

But R400 for Gold Uncapped 2mb from R229 is absolutely retarded
 
that just means u will have a 2mbps line with 1mbps data,that just what i think will happen

Why would anyone want to do that? Say for instance I had a 10MB line with a 4MB account... there is no logical reason to do that.. ever.
 
well your internet will be a tiny bit faster in downloading
and somedays it may run faster... not always but can happen

where the overhead is at 25% now it may go down to 15%
thats what will give u the tiny speed boost

but money wise,its useless the 10mbps line with 4mbps data( not worth the exstra money)

but u dont pay a cent more so its all good

Please call Telkom and request a line downgrade to 1Mbs. This will allow you to continue using your current Openweb 1Mbs without worry about it being unfair.

now taht will be "****ING RETARDED" to give up a free line speed upgrade
that will benefit you even if ur on a 1mbps data

be happy that telkom give u 2mbps line for FREE

i was on 1mbps data and 2mbps line last year when
1mbps became 2mbps
and 386 to 1mbps

i gotten a higher speed like 100kb/s dl max to 115kb/s

and i loved the days when they gave me 150-180kb/s for a houre or 2 :D
