Just a quick XMas story,,,

My nephew and a couple of his friends all wanted Call Of Duty Ghosts for an Xmas present. This they all received via Steam on Xmas day. Unbeknown to the givers, the multiplayer is a 22GB download and then there is another 7GB portion to get.

Anyhow... my nephew, OpenWeb Gold 2Mbs, started the download on the 25th... and was ready to play last night. He managed the 29GB download in 48 hours. His friends are with Mweb (4Mbs) and Telkom (2Mbs) are still waiting. The Mweb download is at 8GB and the Telkom one is at 17GB.

So... his little 2Mbs Gold account shunted the 29GB in less than 48 hours.

EDIT: Sorry... my nephew has corrected me... 24.4GBs for the Steam multiplayer and 7GBs for the single player... so it is actually over 31GBs from the 25th Dec until last night, 26th December.

The Gold Uncapped (Power) has a lower contention ratio and higher priority on the network compared to Gamers King Uncapped.

Mr Beep - what is the difference between the Gamer's King and Gold (Power) accounts?
 
What is the best way to complain to telkom about possible line congestion?

Contact the TelkomZA rep on this very forum. I did that and my problem was sorted out pronto. Do not bother with 10210, that is an endless loop of buffoons put in place to stall you.

The sad part is, the friend on MWEB is most likely going to be throttled by the time his download finishes.

For 5 hours you guys have been messing me around with my username and password reset..............made 6 phone calls, no one put me through to an engineer and now your call centre is not working and the person who promised to call me back never did.

5 hours wasted waiting for your team to respond. really poor service and an exact repeat of what occured the previous time. When is openweb going to get serious about service as right now i have blocked the debit order. it wont be going off until i get a suitable explanation from openweb on how they plan to improve this poor customer service.

Kindly PM me your ADSL username, the name and surname of the registered account holder, and the details of your problem so that I can investigate.

Also please include the name of the agent you spoke to so that I can take it up with them.

My line was upgraded to 10Mbps yesterday, and I grabbed myself one of the shiny new Gold power accounts!

All I can say is STUNNING!!!!!!!!
 
Anyone having any issues streaming from Hulu currently? Adds aren't a issue but the video its self is streaming at 22kB/s.

Never mind seems to not be limited to just Hulu.

The rule of thumb is, the more you pay the more you get.

Gold (Power) is our entry level Gold Uncapped offering.

It offers all the Gold treats with a slightly higher contention ratio than the more expensive options.

I'd also like to know how does Gold power compare against normal Gold :)
