Seriously - take it back to Game. If you motivate with a manager, they will replace it.
I can assure you, I have done the same - last weekend I replaced a Canon wireless printer that was 4 months old. Last year I replaced an HPG6 and a Toshiba Satelite.

What are they gonna do ... plug it and test it at the shop?
You spent your hard earned cash on it, and you deserve to enjoy the net and your unshaped weekend (hinting to OW here).

Good luck :)

hope not :P
but what router should i get then?
ask for a swap?

i will try this weekend
game dont have a wide selection of routers
i want one with nice range and data monitor

Did any of you guys with a Netgear 2200 router experience any authentication problems last night just before 10pm? Line connection was good until that time and then all of a sudden my connection "dropped" and there was a red led light on my router. I am trying to establish if is my router or my account.

I will also start with problem solving this evening, but it will also help me if anyone out there also experienced the same glitch?

I'm more uder the impression that Openweb is running out of bandwidth and the Home-users get what is is left. That seems the logical explanation why my 10MB account performs like a 512k account during business hours and the taps open after hours.

Download Speed: 473 kbps (59.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 853 kbps (106.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 21 ms

Dude please post a tracert to google.co.za done during business hours and then one done after hours. This will rule out your exchange being borked during the day.

According to mr.Beep speedtests are also shaped during the day. For me all protocols are usually shaped during the day, but I have not found any ISP so far who actually has an uncapped account that actually functions during business hours. Moving to a capped account next month as uncapped usually does not function during business hours.

The network gets busy from around 07:50 every morning.

The charts see a sudden jump at this time, and shaping automatically kicks in.

You will not always see 512k. This speed will change when network conditions change.

Last night NO shaping was applied after 19:30. If you experience slow speeds after this time, it needs to be investigated.

Kindly email us: [email protected]

Do the 4Mbps Gamers King Uncapped accounts have a rolling window in terms of rate limiting/shaping?

The past 2 days I've noticed (and graphed) my usage and its being limited to 2Mbps after midnight even.

I fully understand the rate limiting to 1Mbps between 08:00 and 17:00, but nowhere did it say that downloads will be shaped that long after hours.

So is this normal/expected behaviour?

MrBEEP, I mailed your team yesterday requesting some info before upgrading my account. The team was quick to reply to my mails/questions and I even got mails after hours from Leoni. Account upgraded within a few minutes of the request. Awesome service. Thank you!

Could not even browse during the day web pages did not open was told by OW if I download during peak my browsing gets shaped alongside the download protocol.

Im at work during the day but the wifey is not happy if she cant even use online banking :)

That's terrible! I'm on an account that is cheaper than yours (Gamer's Delight) and apart from torrents, I pretty much get ~200KB/s on a 2Mb/s line all the time. Just did a steam update of 140mb in 11 minutes.

Perhaps there's something to look in here for you.

Do you provide dialup accounts? I'm serious... my 2meg line is getting 3k a second and we haven't been downloading anything, only browsing. Appears the 2meg line is the old 512k account (talking in general for all ISPs).

Is there a lower account that you provide for a smaller more real price? I'll even consider dialup for continuity.

PM MrBEEP and see what he and his team can do? I initially struggled as well but after some email tennis with support my issues have largely been solved.

I am currently connected to your account sending this message with it.

Browsing works fine.

I have reset the port for you.

Please power down your router for 30 minutes then back on and try again

I don't agree

I must admit I also had very good speeds on gamers when I first signed up but after changing accounts its been up and down for me.:(

Openweb is terrible. Telkom informed me that my ADSL line is absolutely OK. My Openweb account's buggy as hell. I couldn't fap continuously to a HD video at all last week. No cents from me ever again.
