Hey Friends,
There will be NO shaping on OpenWeb this weekend!
We will be dropping all shaping at 17:30 today, until 07:00am on Monday morning. Queue those downloads, because you are in for a FUN weekend!
I am having such inconsistent results with my Openweb Gold 4 mb uncapped account. It is amazing on weekends and weekday nights but has such inconsistent performance during the day for the last two months.
My wife does online adwords from home (not bandwidth intensive at all) and some days, like today, it feels as if dial up would be quicker. I never had this kind of problem with MWeb and the problem also goes away when I use the access prepaid GB.
Could you assist?
Hey guys,
Anyone else getting great speeds with certain sites e.g. YouTube but struggling to simply load others (strangely Google and Imgur are some of the ones I noted in my case).
Never had this problem before, not quite sure what to do here...
Yeah it has gone a little bad even here on Openweb , ........However I switched to Afrihost and guess what .....I think my grandmother on a bicycle with a memory stick would have been faster .
Have not tried Telkom ...but anyway its almost 17:30 ...lets see how it shapes up![]()

Hi MrBeep,
I've signed up for the Gamer's delight special, and while thrilled with the value it offers, I'm curious if I could get better latencies to EU. Dota 2 Specifically. I'm new to Openweb, so not sure what my options are, but how do I get from

That trace was done from an ushaped prepaid account, but I've seen others with the Gamers delight posting speed tests to UK/EU with sub-180ms pings and also understood this special to have unshaped & prioritised gaming bandwidth?

TLDR; I am getting 220-240ms in game on EU servers, and would really love to be sub 200 if it is a possibility? Halp!

Thanks for the reply!
I might be off the mark here, but is this line not the IPC?
the jump from there toCode:4 9 ms 11 ms 11 ms core2-pkl-t0-7-0-0.ip.isnet.net [168.209.1.163]

Which I imagine is EU somewhere, is really high.
I guess I just wanted to check the difference between me and the other trace is not something solvable somehow, on my end or yours, or a backbone switch or something?
Thanks for the info!
