Hi Syk0t1k,

We are not upgrading to an 'awesome' level, our network is already on an 'awesome' level.

Drop me a PM and we will provide you with a complimentary trial account.

I must ask, honestly is it worth my while to switch to openweb?? i threatened afrihost last week via twitter that i will be ditching them for openweb im currently on a 6GB + 1GB free capped account with Afrihost TBH ive never tested my speed, thing is my AH capped account costs me R87 whereas OW current special will cost me a measly R22 more for uncapped... Afrihost responded with there clever marketing tactic of i quote "We have some awesome upgrades planned, we think it would be worth your while to stick with us ;) - @Afrihost" hmmmm what to do...

Hi snail112,

Early in 2013 :)

Our bundles will be sure to upset a few 'awesome' chaps out there....and make everyone else very very happy :)

Ask MrBeep for a test account and make up your mind.

I was with Afrihost for a while too. I didn't have a test account, but was familiar with the good support of Openweb. Just decided to go for the 384 Gold Uncapped as a test run for 2 months. Now I have a 2MB ADSL line, with Telscum, and a 2MB account.

P.S. Openweb does not do the managing of the ADSL lines yet, but surely they'll think about it in the future.

This is good news :)
I'm usually the first in line to advise not to move your line to any ISP, but the service I've gotten from you guys, has been nothing short of amazing. Therefore, I would have no issues moving my line over -especially if there's some kind of saving to be had ;)

Thanks MrBEEP and co.

Hi Mr Beep

Are there any problems with the after hours uncapped account.
I am not able to access any local sites including openweb.
Rapidshare and most of the international sites seem ok.
I am posting from a spare webafrica account.
Many thanks

Johnathan

I just created a generic account and looked at some of your accounts - Something that confuses me is that some of those packages arent on your main website such as

"1mbps Uncapped ADSL including ADSL rental R389"
(1mbs uncapped what? standard? You offer ADSL line management?)

OR

Facebook Offers 10GB capped unshaped.

Just confusing as to what accounts are available and not

1 more retarded question.

Unshaped Capped ADSL – Pre-Christmas Sale!
Gaming prioritized? Or unshaped isn't affected by priority?

Hi Grizz,

This is a matter we are working on. Some of these display, but cannot be ordered, which is incorrect. It should not be displayed. The developers are working on it.

Heh, read this entire thread as I am considering moving to Openweb, and saw the part about a free trial account. So sent an email to [email protected] as advised, not expecting a response until morning. Had a reply from Calvin Lomas within 22 or so minutes with the trial account details.... pity I am at work, but am going to load it as soon as I get home tomorrow.

Thanks for the fast service, this bodes well to a prospective customer! :D

My speeds seem to have taken a dive, currently maxing out at 6kB/s. I mailed MrBeep but apparently the account runs full speed that side. I have tried a Telkom account and used a friends IS account both run at full line speed this side which just leaves Openweb going at 6kB/s. MrBeep suggested phoning Telkom which resulted in Telkom just telling me that there are no problems on my line and if they log a fault and send some one out and he finds no issues that I have to pay the call out fee. Has anyone had a similar issue? Not sure if this is shaping or another issue.

PS: I'm on Openweb gold 4 mb account

Hi, I'd suggest taking it up again with Openweb as it sounds like it is not a line problem.

Aside from some youtube buffering issues, my speeds were decent enough.

I do experience packet loss, but it's with with every ISP I tried. Think it's my exchange?

Hi Arksun,

It seems like it could be a router, line or exchange fault.

Please contact Telkom on 10210 and have them test these for you

Really? Your representatives tell me that VB has been experiencing problems for over a week now, and today I was told that downloads are being throttled to nothing. I am having an authentication error on my account for the second time in a week. All is well? Not from where I sit.

Hi Aardvark,

I have replied to your email.

There are no issues on any of the networks currently.

VB has been on a downward spiral since the start of this year. Most of us lost our VB accounts to authentication errors that Vodacom was unable to fix.

My IS account is still going like a boeing.
