Hi all,

I cancelled my Openweb uncapped subscription on the 2nd of June. I then asked Keoma to try make it immediately as I was only about 1 day late. No response from Keoma, but the cancellations department then stated the account will be cancelled end of June and service will stop at the end of July.
So last night to my surprise another debit order went off and my connection is still active. So I mailed the cancellations department first thing this morning.

Reply received @ 10:33.

" You are still connected to the account. We cannot cancell this until you stop using the account,"

What kind of response is that? I mean WTF, can't they switch it off?

Cheers Pieter

What is the last date that you used the account? If your last session ended after 31 July 23.59, then you used it in August. That would be what they're referring to.

Hi Pieter

If you have not used the account, we do apologise. Please email [email protected] so that we can refund you.

If you have used the account, i'm afraid we would have to bill you for the usage.

Seems to me Openweb don't have control over their own accounts. When I was with M-Web last year my router disconnected just after midnight on the last day of the month.

I any case, my account went into overdraft because of this and as I don't have a OD facility, my bank could still reject your debit order.

I will ask my wife to switch off the bloody router lunch time.

I'm not disputing the 2 June issue. I'm disputing the fact that it has not been disconnected.

Extract from terms:
"......Where proper notice is given in time, OpenISP CC will issue, by email, a cancellation reference number. Only once a cancellation reference number has been issued will the User’s account be deemed to be cancelled."

I received a cancellation reference number. It does not state anywhere that the user must make sure he/she disconnects before the end of the calendar month's notice.
The cancellation e-mail did not say that either.

Schoolfees paid, for all MyBB users.

Seems like this thread about Axxess

The only difference is that everyone flamed Axxess while the Openweb fan boys here are flaming you.

It's not your fault that Openweb doesn't have control over their accounts, so I would recommend that you instruct your bank to reverse the debit order. The control issue is probably due to the fact that Openweb let a couple of clients use the same account details, therefore they cannot stop the account as other clients would be affected as well.

At least Axxess apologised and offered the client 1 free month...

Why must the client pays for your incompetency? He cancelled the service and received confirmation. It's not his fault that you don't have control over your billing system. So instead of making the client pay for your mistakes, rather take responsibility.

Thanks for the support Captain.
You know the saying, it's like f@rting against thunder.

Captain also supported TRL Tech so it's not worth much :p

/Off topic

Grow up, will you? I only have a seedbox with them. And from what I've been reading here, it seems their seedboxes have by far less issues when compared to AeroVPS and Downstorm...

/On topic

The way Openweb is handling the problem is just wrong.

Actually, I think it was pretty much confirmed in the TRL Tech thread that Captain was Reuben himself.

I don't know how you came to that conclusion, but I assume you must be smoking something. And in case you haven't noticed, this thread is about Openweb...

ok.. if you are so for mweb.. try cancelling an account on June the 1st.. they will tell you it will expire end of july, Sorry.

Be gone Reuben, please.

OP, if you have not used the account, please drop us a mail, as this is then definitely a fault on our side which needs to be corrected.

Sorry, because I did not know it will not stop, there is some usage on it. Because it's your backbone you should know how much.
