So I contacted Openweb about this but they haven't responded or done anything about it.

The supposedly offer up to 70% off Standard uncapped accounts, but according to there
pricing, the maximum discount they offer is approximately 47%. I'm sure this is an honest
mistake by someone who failed math in high school :D, but as it stands now, it's false
advertising.

These are the prices they're offering on the bottom of their homepage:

• 384k Standard Uncapped - R79pm, (Normal Price: R149) ~47% Discount
• 1Mbps Standard Uncapped – R109pm, (Normal Price: R197) ~45% Discount
• 2Mbps Standard Uncapped - R209pm, (Normal Price: R297) ~30% Discount
• 4Mbps Standard Uncapped – R382pm, (Normal Price: R539) ~29% Discount
• 10Mbps Standard Uncapped – R599pm, (Normal Price: R997) ~40% Discount

Probably both. Also don't expect an answer, and when you do get one, don't be surprised when it's a nasty sarcastic one

to be devil's advocate though, you fell for the "up to" claim.

MY PRODUCT IS UP TO 4938462367888888474 TIMES BETTER!

*Its actually 3 times better*

FALSE ADVERTISING! RAWR

Nope, I did say UP TO didn't I??

Just like Telkom's "up to" 4Mbps swindle.

I've always gotten 4mbps/2mbps/1mbps whenever I'm on one of those packages. If it were fiber i'd piss in my panties each time I get 1kb/s less than the advertised speed. But meh

Luck of the draw with ADSL, its not an SLA backed agreement so customers cant complain. They have to protect themselves from the various factors that can cause the link to not reach full speed. Ive also never had issues with speed touch wood....

Like you mentioned, if you want the exact speed fork out the money for an uncontested conncetion.

Hi Totempole,

I see we sold our last account this afternoon, thus the promotion is being removed today.

I will investigate the matter with marketing. I believe they factored in the pro rata amount as well.

Don't get me wrong, the prices are very reasonable, in fact I bought into this promo the first time
you offered it a few months ago, and I'm reasonably happy with it as well.

I just find it very interesting that I received absolutely no response via email, and no longer have
permission to view my own support ticket.

The Ticket ID is: INJ-743-75844 in case you're wondering.
