Well peeps i have especially logged on to MBB today to give my 5 cents. A few months ago i had a small altercation with OPENWEB and i would just like to set the record straight. Once an OPENWEBBER seem always an openwebber. Since i got my only "2meg " line up and running i must say Openweb has been faultless.

I would like to recommend OPENWEB my favorite and most problemless ISP.

So much so that i have used other ISP's ( 4 others) and Openweb is tops all the way

my

5 cents

openweb is not a very nice company. no matter whats wrong, its always your router or telkoms fault.

they're rude and nasty. they can do with a few customer relation courses as their customer relations sukcs big time. just read the way they reply to their customers here on mybb. its awful.

they might have the best internet but i'll rather go with a company thats not always blaming someone else for their faults and a little friendlier...

my 5 cents

Well i have used a few others and must say OPENWEB is top for me atm. I do also have an AFRIHAST account and like the grear special they are giving these dayz, but for now Openweb has given me great service.

I wouldn't really know how their support is as the account just works. As the Internet should.

OpenWeb's internet is the best I have used.

I don't really care about customer support (but I have had quite good and quick responses from them), as long as the internet is great i'm happy.

The majority on hellopeter seems to suggest the opposite of what you're saying though, so i'll take that with a grain of salt. ;)

Any idiot can scavange mybb and find people who are upset about virtually any ISP.
Using an ancient thread from march 2012 as an example? are you kidding me?

Let's just look at the hard numbers instead.

a handful of people doesn't sway anyone... they are in a very small minority. I could probably find a lot more for Telkom, Axxes, MWeb and Afrihost if I wanted to :p
Sounds like you have a knife in for OpenWeb or something.

PS: I see a lot of praise for OpenWeb after going through a few of those links of yours...lol

All i was saying is i have tried Webafrica....... AXXESS....... MWEB................ AFRIHOST................... And after chopping and changing all i know is my internet just goes and goes and GOES and GOES. Openweb simply has changed my daily outlook on Internet. Well Done so far OPENWEB.

Yep, I was first on OpenWeb and then tried Afrihost due to the cheap price and because I thought I wasn't such a heavy user that it would be fine. I was wrong and went back to OpenWeb.

also very happy openwebber :)

been with Mweb, @lantic and WA, speed wise and service wise im getting better service and better value for money.

if i log a ticket withing 6 hours they have replied and is sorted. I haven't experienced that with any other ISP to date... and im an network tech and deal daily with this ****.

all clients i recommend OW - might not be cheapest around but value for money you going to get!

openweb's gold is probably the best internet package available in the country... i've said that how many times.

my problem is the way openweb speak to and treat their customers.

and there's never a fault on their side. its always your router. or your telkom line. never openweb.

and they brake several CPA rules quite frequently.

i've canceled my gold package even before i had my username, yet had to give 30 days notice.

and their frequent promotions...

"Special is subject to activating a debit order." (and a 30 day notice period)

"Current clients cannot downgrade or cancel an account in favour of the promotional package, they can however add it as an additional package."

when my line did not perform the way it should for a gold package with loads of speedtests from openweb and other isp's, their answer simply were that its my line. or my router. telkom spend two days at my property and could not find any fault. used 4 diffirent routers. 5 diffirent isp accounts.

then my line miraculous started working as it should have. and its still working fine.

but its the rest that really bothers me. as i'm a paying customer i expect to be treated likewise. since the customers pay their salaries. i do not support companies that treat me otherwise. simple as that.

i've got adsl since 2006. line with cybersmart. and when i had problems the ceo phoned me and apologized personally and offered me a better deal. i get my line cheaper than any other isp can offer it. many ppl got problems with cybersmart. i dont.

personally i would never recommend openweb to anybody after my experience.

i've recommended cybersmart to more than 300 ppl.

if openweb treated me better i would have done the same for them.

Your line had zero problems yet you were testing 5 different ISP accounts at the same time? :wtf:

If your internet worked on ISP A, why did you even need to have ISP B, C, D and E?
Sounds to me like you had loads of problems with all those accounts and routers scattered about :erm:

And what does "Special is subject to activating a debit order" have do do with customer service?

or "Current clients cannot downgrade or cancel an account in favour of the promotional package, they can however add it as an additional package." for that matter

and how did you even test OpenWeb without even having a username btw? :erm:

Time for my 2cents

I find it very interesting that you go out of your way to speak negatively towards openweb on almost every thread you post on. What is even more fascinating is that you are probably 1 of 3 people right now speaking negatively of them.

Your account is working fine, yet you hate openweb. I cannot understand how you can justify this. Would you like mrbeep to come and rub your feet whilst enjoy a cup of lemon tea?

mrbeep, get on it with it bro

And another thing, do you deny that you agreed to their terms when signing up? Or did you agree? As I can recall, in very big writing they show you their terms of service when signing up, and you have to agree before they create the account.

Oh and for the record, my account is flying - ofcourse, its openweb!
