Thanks MrBEEP, so are concurrent connections allowed on Openweb IS uncapped?

Nope, that 2nd connection is usually a IS/telkom like dummy connection and if making more than 1 connection = against the rules, then your services is suspended...

hmm, I had 1.7Gb usage on my account last night, which I emailed mrBeep about as my PC was off. Turned off my router and went to bed. Woke up this morning with 4.4Gb usage on my account up until 3am this morning even though I only had about 30 minutes of WoW and no downloads.

Asked to have my account details changed and will be keeping an eye on this every day now..... (uncapped account)

Well, now I have my own personalised openweb account I guess :)

Thanks for waxing me MrBeep. I do appreciate the effort and the time you put into this, as well as the phone call.

I still maintain however, these sessions disconnected / reconnected various times (especially the one in PTA), and thus they where not 'phantom' connections.

Recycling the accounts obviously also makes sense and I do see the need for that... But a cool off period might be a good idea. Once a account is canceled, change the password and let it lie for a week or a month before giving it to someone else... That will give you ample time to verify that the passwords did actually change and that no one else is using the account ;)

Just a thought...

LoL, its uncapped, why do you even care...?

See my post previously. Just because it's a uncapped account, does not mean that its a green light for anyone to do what they want...

Theft is theft, fraud is fraud. If I have a unlimited cash supply... Does it make it right for you to come and steal my money?

savage i tend to agree with ziggie here

if your speed is good who gives a crap about your usage i mean why even look at it

if you had endless amounts of money coming in would u care if someone was stealing i wouldnt

i would just roll around my bed in it :)

uncapped FTW

i think if sell my car and walk to work then i can get uncapped yay

So it's OK to steal from a rich guy, but not OK to steal from a poor guy? It's OK to steal from a uncapped account, but not OK to steal from a account that has a cap?

I didn't ASK to get a decent sallary at my work. I worked my ASS off to get where I am. Now I can afford it, I see NO reason why I should be sharing my hard work with anyone else...

What you are saying are a taad bit hypocritical I'd say. From a DSL Grandmaster with over 4300 posts, I would expect a bit more.

Well if the guy is lucky enough to get your account and you can still login, share ;)

*EDIT: The only reason i can download 100's of gb's a month is because of sharing accounts...

I agree with Savage. Plus the more you steal from the uncapped accounts the odds that the ISP's will be able to bring down prices on the normal ADSL accounts get very bad. Now we all suffer

So far another 3gb (total now 7Gb) downloaded on my account... As for those commenting about stealing others accounts, one day when you grow up and daddy/mommy say they cant support you anymore you will think twice about sharing your stuff you paid for yourself with others.

Haha, i support myself quiet easily and still it doesn't phase me. Have you ever thought that maybe IS sells a "bulk" uncapped account to the resellers allowing more than 1 concurrent connection. The reseller then uses this "bulk" account with multiple clients...

LOL if there's ISPs that does that ziglet, they need to be shot, really...

If you want to personally share your account with a friend or a fo, that's your business. Whether you are allowed to or not, that's a different story (and not the point of this discussion).

What will happen if 1 account is given to 40 different people to use, that they pay for? One person (someone like you), will give that account details to your friend. Your friend in returns go and give it to his friend, who gives it to 10 of his friends. All 10 of his friends, gives it to 10 of their friends...

Before you know it, IS has a account that's supposed to be used by 40 people, now being used by 200 people... Now IS needs to suspend the account and/or change the password in order to curb the abuse...

So what happens now to the original 40 persons that are LEGITIMATELY paying for the account?

There's a reason why one account is intended for one person... Usage tracking and abuse tracking are two of the big reasons, I'm sure there are allot of others as well.

What you are saying is absurd, and I feel really sorry for you to see that this is the mentality that you have.

When you purchase an uncapped OpenWeb account, you effectively purchase a 512k/1024k pipe into the ISDSL network. If we allowed more than 1 concurrent session, you would be getting 1024k (2 sessions) of bandwidth and only paying for 512k. As such, multiple sessions are disabled on OpenWeb uncapped accounts.

Talking about friday, im off to the beach, haha, enjoy work peepz!
