OpenWeb/OpenISP ADSL Packages

I would also like to know what speeds would be like when you hit your international cap and if int browsing would be possible on the throttled 64k.

Hey arf9999,

Pls check your PM.

Thx
MrBEEP

Ok wait... I go for:

3GB including 30GB Local Cap: R199 per month

This means i get 3GB int'l full speed and 30GB local full speed. After each hit their cap they'll get throttled to 64k?

ps: I like the site! :)

Surely he isn't 100% correct? As far as I see it, it is a combined 30 gigs to which 3 gigs is international and the other 27 local?

Wow this looks so good!!

I am with webafrica atm and after using MrBeeps proxy i am downloading torrents etc at full speeds, was verry worried about the 1st november thing cause R199 for 30gigs is very good ,no it's great price but, now with the 1st november looming i will def go for the open isp option!!

Can any one post ping times to sgs with the open isp options?

30gb local and throttled international after cap, dang that sounds great, throttled instead of no net!!

10GB + 128K OpenBROWSE: R739

2GB + 192K OpenBROWSE: R239
3GB + 192K OpenBROWSE: R262
5GB + 192K OpenBROWSE: R414

Visit: http://www.openweb.co.za for more details!

Not bad at all MrBeep.
Can you guarantee the INT browsing speed after the cap?
Will INT downloads (P2P ) work at those speeds as well?
regards

Unfortunately, anything ADSL cannot be guaranteed, but unlike Telkom, our service really is best effort.

These packages do not work with P2P, but we are currently working on P2P solutions for the OpenBROWSE family.

:)

MrBeep..........
Is there a Cap on your Openbrowse international downloads (http anf FTP) ?
If so how much?

It is uncapped. But because the IS account only has 30GB local, that sort of becomes the cap.

This looks like a good deal MrBeep...

Questions:
1. Is this a proxy or a VPN solution?
2. If I choose a 192 option, will my local speed also be throttled?

Hey arf9999,

It is a Proxy solution. We are currently working on the VPN solution, should be ready in a month or so.

Everything you send through the proxy will be throttled, but you can simply unproxify stuff that needs to be local.

Thanks
MrBEEP

BTW....if you are on the 192 package, there will be times that the speeds burst way past that. It all depends on how busy the proxy is.

All IS accounts will have no(none, zero) international access after CAP. This has be made known to VISP holders on Friday. So no, you wont have international access without a local proxy for instance.

Well MrBEEP it would be good if you told your own prospective buyers that IS does not allow any international access after the cap. OpenBROWSE or not. Shouldnt need to hear this from me.

Clipse !!
Do you mean there will be no International browsing after the CAP WITHOUT MrBeep's OpenBrowse proxy?
No even throtled to 64 kbs?

Guys, apparently IS has just changed their policies. They no longer have international access after you have been capped. But our new OpenBROWSE packages will easily solve this problem!
