Hope they fix it soon cause my hon is lagging like a bitch :? poor thing is foaming at the mouth pretty much just gave up on wow

Haha. Speeds weren't great yesterday. Late last night it seemed to get better though. So far this morning it feels better. I'm hoping that its sorted now and will stay that way

Is anybody else having trouble with astraweb? I can't even load their website.

Code:
260 packets transmitted, 6 received, 97% packet loss, time 260425ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 347.106/363.950/434.200/31.572 ms

I'm not on astraweb,I'm getting 80-100kbps on supernews at moment on vb.Is vb shaping news servers now a days? Before it use to fly

Also been having issues with Astraweb since the 12th.
4Mb IS Gold account.
In the evenings it can sit anywhere between 80KB/s and about 100KB/s, during the day, it's next to useless at around 4KB/s. Mind you, this is the usenet speeds, "normal" downloading can get up to around 250KB/s - 300KB/s and browsing and youtube seems fine.

Could be that I just need to ask them to reset my port, haven't gotten around to popping them a mail, since I like to wait a couple of days to see how things develop.

--Edit--
It seems the connections to Astraweb keep disconnecting. (If I have a look at what alt.binz is doing.)

This is my first month on Openweb 384k uncapped standard. Newsgroups have been crawling along at 2kB/s- 6kB/s consistently since the beginning of the month going up to 10kB/s-15kB/s over weekends. I do not notice any difference after hours, at least not between 8pm and 12pm. Http downloads are currently also crawling between 3kB/s and 5kB/s. It's close to dial up speeds.

Its slow overall, but considering that I have already downloaded 16 GB on this account, thus looking at +/-40GB for the month, and considering the alternative (paying R760 for a 40GB account) i do think this account is great value for money, despite the slow speeds.

Considering the higher speeds and consequent higher monthly data usage, would it be worth it to upgrade to gold? Feedback from anyone on Openweb 384k gold would be appreciated.

I'm also on the 384 standard uncapped account and I usually get between 25-38kbs on HTTP downloads. Think you should send MrBEEP a mail so he can try to help you. Usually get a response really quickly

Thanks Qrox, I will do that. Do you get these speeds during the daytime as well?

leonpierresusan, I have Gold Uncapped 384 IS and my downloads is flying at 37-40KBps. It is worth the extra money.

From time to time Openweb has the Gold Uncapped on special for much cheaper than the normal R318, last price on special was R258.

I did about 15GB since 6 April, all at 37-40KBps.

NewsDeamon and AstraWeb running full speed (37-40KBps).
