RE: Worried about the number of complaints regarding the Xbox 360 Replacement Procedure.
As I am still awaiting my console, I read some of the hellopeter.com complaints I can't help but wonder and worry regarding the numerous complaints that have been logged and posted. Yet we all receive the same generic answers and apologies. Now I know most of you are just doing your job, but how many people have to complain before Microsoft realize that their current warranty policy is not working to great. It is also not the first time that there has been no stock and Microsoft had responded pretty much the same way as they did then. Also I have seen a big number of replacement units also getting the RROD error and those consumers are in a predicament, I know now of two whom have their machines out of the 3 years extended warranty on the 3 red lights error. So I am rather also worried about the replacement unit, by the time it fails also it would be out of warranty and no longer Microsoft's problem. So I understand the people selling their replacement units after, eventually receiving them from Microsoft. in fear of a repeat of the replacement process, which a lot of people are fearing these days. Going through the current warranty exchange procedure is like a visit to the dentist.
I am really struggling to have faith in Microsoft's product, the plagued Xbox 360. As I have read rather a lot of alarming information about it, and first handedly experienced Microsoft's lack in customer service and support. Where some people have really tried their best, it seems that Microsoft has failed them too as you all are seen as Microsoft. So the good is lost amongst the bad. As I read through all the replies on hellopeter.com regarding people with the Xbox 360 RROD replacement woes, I am a bit worried about the response from Microsoft, as it seems all a bit cut and paste and very insincere. It seems that Microsoft has been aware of this problem for sometime but have not acted or responded speedily to resolve it. It appears that the norm is but to wait till the system sorts itself out.
Now a rising problem in South Africa has also a bit of the blame, we as South African are too tired of complaining. As in the past it had not yielded anything except increased stress-levels. People don't bother to complain anymore, so I fear that the service issue with Microsoft could even be greater, with the general public that just take bad service as a norm of living. So although it is also to blame, I feel it can still be no excuse or a legit cop-out reason. It's also very funny how companies assume that if they apologize it makes all better and that the client will somehow not mind to still wait as long as he would if he never complained. So I feel that even though some staff were great in handling my problem, it was just a case of saying sorry can't help you please wait some more. Hope I have shed a bit more light in the way I am feeling and that Microsoft would really look into this and make right with the consumers where they have been wronged. Service delivery is very important I believe, even (especially) for a great company like Microsoft. So let's hope that through all of this at least there would be a more permanent and positive resolution for all arrived.
Regards
